Well that's me stopped out of all longs now. A very big change of sentiment in this last hour.

Took a "bgrade" CT scalp that I won't put up a chart for on Euro off the not very impressive tweezer bottoms, just up to the 15min 10 ma for 10 pips, but once I'd placed the trade I looked at Aussie which was a much better setup. Pinbar through 35ma and touching 50emaand 200sma, and potential higher low. It then formed a second 15min pin and I've just taken 15pips off half, SL to BE. Chart below of entry and 1st TP

How much stop loss do you give, for scalping 10 or 15pips? Seems your way of trading with the flow don't get any stop outs which is fantastic. Great thread here.

Sl is always based on S and R, I hardly ever use a fixed SL, and in the Aussie trade I had an 11pip stop. ie just below the previous low. You could also have had an even tighter SL just a few pips below the wick of the pin, and below the 50sma around 21-22 (8 or 9) pips which would have been better R:R, but I prefered in this case I preferred a slightly larger SL in case of a spike down. getting the small SL is all about the entry, and being patient sometimes, and yet aggressive at others. That's another paradox of trading that can make it so difficult for beginners.

To add to that- this is a Sl for a 15min trade. If I see a setup on a 4hr or 1hr chart, then the SL will obviously be larger. For example the last long I took yesterday on Euro before going out was a 15min entry, but around 4hr support, and as I wasn't around to monitor it, I kept my SL below the 4hr lows- it was about 20pips SL.

As we were talking about it yesterday, I thought I'd try an experimental 35/50 trade on cable, as we'd had quite a swift move down from the top, and closed a long candle very small wick on the 200sma and put half a position on at 78. It's been slower than I would have liked, and I nearly bailed early, but I'm closing half of it at 94 (+16pips), near the ma's/resistance. Sl to BE as she could quickly turn around

Man, have you ever got the damned midas touch right now

Even your experimental trades are coming off!

Just out of interest and by all means don't reveal it if you aren't comfortable doing so but what's your growth looking like for June so far?

I'm envious of your freedom to intraday trade right now, I just can't quite create the time I need to focus right now. I'm working on ways and means to get back there but it's a little up in the air right now.

Morning all. I took a long on Aussie off the 1hr 62 for a few pips, then stopped out BE and reentered again after a pin - nothing great though, and more recently a cable long off the 1hr 62 after the 15min inverted hangman. I'm wary of longs on cable after that daily close at resistance- 1.5640x is tough resistance. The markets are very slow so far there's been been hardly any movement. We may form the right shoulder of an inverse H+S on the Euro 4hr if price dips to the 75 level, so something to watch, but there's really not much going right now for me

Good, an early exit when the morning is so quiet is not such a bad thing, better to just grab a handful of pips when the movement is so little than miss your chance to get out green. I saw EU too, but thought that cable and Aussie were probably the better bet being above the 1hr 62/50ma's.

Banked 1/4 more profit on cable (+29)and aussie (+27) as we have upper trendlines on eu and cable and a hammer on cable. Aussie doesn't have the trendline, but if euro and cable stall, then it's likely Aussie will as well and it's near the previous highs

Just checking in again, and see I was stopped out on the rest of my cable long. Aussie's still in it's very strong today compared to the rest, but Euro just showing strength now after the sell off. Bought back in on 15min chart on Aussie can anyone see where?
