Truth is some very large traders prefer CFDs vs Futures...It really is an individual circumstance type of thing..could be for
tax reasons and could be for residency reasons in certain countries etc..amongst other things..

You know its funny watching Tom Hougaard a guy who will trade 3000-4000 lots on cfds at times...

But his normal intraday trades are scalps to me... I like you Mark will trade the 1m with larger targets..Not always but often...
And then Toms scalp trades are probably I am assuming more like Rick lasting seconds to a minute or two perhaps,,

But shit I must say hats off to you fellas who do it..Thats highly highly focused trading a little to fast for my tastes but I do love seeing
it...

With that said I will toss up a chart of the SPX todays trades were spot on the money entries and targets and quite frankly it isnt always that clean lol.
But you do it enough and these days happen.... Not a ton of points 30 or so....but I made good money with little risk so im happy..

Tossing them up on Dutchy thread and a couple charts of how I look at the bigger pic. Then bedtime NY comes early

Cheers all

Me, besides getting the last few things set in my method, I am just looking for consistent trades that I can scale up.

I doubt I would ever be able to trade like Tom Hougaard, that would scare the crap out of me.

Bottom line is that there are many ways to do this.

{quote} The S&P has a rotation of 4 ticks on a moderate trend, which increases proportionally as the volume increases which creates a hard trend that’s very tradable for scalpers. So if you do decide to trade the short term time frames, you will see the higher highs or lower lows far easier down at the one minute view point - and even more profitable if you have the guts to get really dirty and start trading the seconds time frames. Here you will hit a wall trading trading MES. The trading costs show it’s 50% less profitable in trading fees...

My first go at SP500 was soon after the MES was introduced. I had no clue, although I thought I did. Had two charts, a 300 tick and a 1200 tick. Could never really wrap my head around those. Now, back in my safe zone of linear time, I am seeing how it moves and acts much clearer. I do not foresee any issues with how much I can trade on the MES as it has volume close to the ES.

Thanks again

After a few weeks of (trying) to use the M1, I am going back to the M5. I get to sucked into the M1 and lose track of where I am - market structure. Even with a higher TF chart next to it. Gotta trade what suits you personally. That is the only way it will work. Take from others what fits with you and forget the rest.

Hi Mark,
Yes I concur, whatever fits with the individual.

I can watch two TF's having only the one pair essentially.
So I have a 15m & 5m tiled on one screen side-by-side using two diff templates for structure overviews.
Then its down to the 1m (from the 5m) when a trade is imminent to attempt a 'pips finesse on entry' to cover my overall spread & comms adds
(works sometimes others not lol).
But the dual views are from a desk distance, as I don't pore over the charts & suffer screen madness anymore lol (well I don't think I do hahaa )

I don't know if this indicator is useful to anyone using MT4, it copies over any Lines, Channels, Gann, Fibs, Shapes, Arrow & Graphics drawn on the chart
that has the indicator applied to it, to another open chart(s) of the same symbol of the same TF or any TF.

So for example you are analysing a higher timeframe chart and want your Objects copied instantly over to a LTF chart of the same symbol you can do that easily.

There is also a Crosshair Sync Indicator, works the same as above, handy tool with MTF charts.

It is important. If I have learned anything these past few months is that nothing is not so important.

But if you were a bank trader would you not want to load up your positions before franky Open, so You call your Bank Colleagues in Asia to help you set up the market for Franky Open ?

Remember it's a 24 hour market.

Yes, that is why opens can be so volatile with all those orders waiting to be executed.

I am looking at more from the point of the hour open block that sets the potential for high or low.

The M5 is in a wedge. Volman style squeeze between the MA and a speed (trend) line.
