One more thing. When i saw brutal stop loss "cascades" 3 times in a row it was a clear indication where the market is going - opposite to cascades. It was visible only with DOM surface. This alone is licence to print money - wish

Yes exactly 100%

Also see how different can be volume/delta trading? RickM is using VWAP, I don't. But I use moving average (hah!)
It doesn't matter much what you are using. It just help us too see the context.

Oh typo

I meant the SPY chart which is a ETF of the S&P 500.
It’s open of course only during stock market hours while the Futures market mucks around looking for something to do till it reopens.

Many times the Futures market will close any gaps the same week.

This is just one of many reasons why trading just the S&P E Mini is the only market you need to trade. There is so many tools to help the trader be successful.

For any trader interested in starting orderflow education i find this summary very usefull, as a start. IMHO the truth is there is no other path really. And it is not a sad truth - you should celebrate you found that path.

Thanks ffpricactio, very nice link to understand the basic tools you need to use to trade overflow.

My 2 cents worth.

I think the Footprint charts are a great way to start to get a better understanding on how executed market orders are indeed the best trade signals to profit from.
Then you will hit a railway crossing and have to decide whether you prefer the higher time frames / tick charts to trade from using the above mentioned tools or decide to move down to the area where you can see the real time trade execution happening from bigger player algo's.

This is my area of speciality down at execution level which I find works best on the base rotation of the market you trade. As I mostly trade ESZ22 (S&P Futures E mini contract), I trade the 4 second chart (could be a low tick chart value as an alternative) where I am looking at the actual trade execution to base my trade decision from. This is an area of trading almost no one talks about because you have to master a DOM now (or try your best) to see what the Algo's are doing.
Here I am looking for uptick / downtick rejection, closed auctions, liquidity stacking, slips, cascading stop gaps, speed of execution and of course excess delta or volume.

I honest believe using multi time frames to base your decision from is a waste of valuable screen space on your monitor. All you need is current time / tick based chart up with a secondary chart that's zoomed out to show the last few hours or day. This gives a clearer picture on whether price is moving through a series of higher highs or lower low's and this is all you should base your trade decisions from.

Orderflow traders should also be trading with the sheep after they move by using vacuum areas at pullback spots - rather than trying to guess reversal points. I am not saying trading reversals using orderflow tools doesn't work, it's just a lower probability win that trading with the sheep on shallow pullbacks.
Personally I trade anywhere from $25 to $75 a tick so trying to guess reversals and getting them wrong can cost me about $1,000 in two minutes flat. The reason is I have to have a bigger stop on reversal (about 15 ticks) where with pullbacks I only need 6 tick stop and there are many more trades on offer.

Bottom line - Trade only one time frame / tick chart with order flow with a secondary chart zoomed out and the ticks will flow quicker at higher dollar amounts.

Cheers

IMHO in terms of efficiency- your triggers/filters like 1 min volume - it is the ultimate solution. Really. All i can try is to mimic. Probably with EBS or ICE data EUREX data, as far as i managed to recognize the subject of data for FX.

Up to this moment my target was to trigger at 1 min rotation to enter in 1 day rotation. Theoretically We know it is not that simple.

Now i have arrived to this junction, railroad crossover. Maybe there is more efficent way exactly the one you described.

I could not agree more. 2 types of retracement/pullback. Deep - HVN (poc) , shallow LVN (vacuum). Nothing more. That is it.

You and every other Futures trader it seems, personally it’s the best trading platform out there but I struggle to love it. Check out your CPU usage when on a chart, it puts MT4 to shame.

In terms of user experience in placing and managing orders (which makes a difference between winning and lossing) i understand why jigsaw for orderflow DOM traders is the best. However in terms of flexibility in other areas i am impressed with sierra.

No, Sierra Charts is the best tool for orderflow traders
If you want the Best DOM however, you need Jigsaw.

Therefore its either Sierra + Jigsaw or Sierra + Bookmap

You can set up your Dom to be very close to Jigsaws Dom, just a small delay I have been told.

Heres a link to setting up your Footprint Chart correctly if you like them.

https://axiafutures.com/blog/how-to-...hart-footprint

I will probably be back on Sierra Charts next year, I previously used it from 2015 to 2019

First time is unique, will never repeat

My first time with Sierra is unique and my impressions are only positive. It is a solid piece of code. Also Denali looks like a solid data feed. No gamification. Flexibility available due to complex development. I must admit i am 100% into Sierra at this moment, although i see there is a learning curve ahead.

I like mt4 only because mq4 is relatively simple. It enables to code tools/studies relatively easy. Including tools for trade management.

By the way - data feed of my mt4 broker is so stupid i could apply some "time arbitrage" ))

Watch Gold on both, there’s often a small lead to futures which is possible to catch on rare occasions.

One of my best trades last year was when Gold Futures broke out of a range but IC Markets Gold chart wasn’t moving. I quickly went long with 1 lot on Gold and was reward 2 seconds later when it also took off.

IC Markets feed really fucked up, I wasn’t complaining.
Normally you can’t get in quick enough but it’s worth a look.
