how is it developing?
GBPUSD growing into profit. My goal is to hold it at least another 250 pips, or even more depending on the situation on the market.

And CADCHF really pissed me off when it hit BE with my 3 positions and then moved downward again. I did not place SLs as I now build positions quite aggressively as markets are moving in clear directions.

When markets make a pullback, I'll be adding to positions.

The equity is reaching a +70% return. It took a month to build positions that survived market volatility and I am starting to see the fruits of my work. This method looks very sexy when you see only results at the end but does not look so attractive when you hit the 20th loss or BE in a row. Imagine that still most of my positions can die because I am not closing them and still letting them grow. I have locked some profit by moving SL but still can be a bad experience to see them die.

I hope that you see now the power of this method and can apply it to your trading.

I closed my trades because I didn't feel confident enough... I should give it more time, we are always in a rush to close the trades, patience is the key...

Regarding targets. Do you exit positive trades when you reach a % profit? Or when you reach monthly/weekly resistance?

Regarding the trend. Do you expect the moving averages of the lower time frames to line up with the averages of the upper time frames to start the trades?

What is your target in this EURGBP example? This question here will solve the next one, what you consider a resistance?

Hi Marcelo,

thank you for posting your answers. My trading is very discretionary so I do not follow strict rules. I've been trading for 14 years and I make decisions based on my gut and that came from many hours in front of the screen. I tried to give here some rules for you to give you the basic guidelines. But in reality, I enter long when markets are going up and I enter short when markets are going down. Sometimes I use momentum, sometimes I use the bigger picture. No rules on that.

The same applies to exiting trades at a certain profit or loss. Sometimes I exit because I've got a feeling that it is not going higher and I do not want to lose all profits I accumulated. Sometimes I do not take profits because I am not at the PC for a couple of days or I just make a decision when I check it on the phone. Many times I'm impatient and make bad decisions. But I do not care. What matters is that I make money with multiple trades when the price is going in my direction and I lose only with one or two trades when it is not going right.

I do not check other TFs that much. H4 and weekly charts are ones I check regularly. Sometimes H1 but not often. Moving averages just give me an overview of what is happening. I am willing even to bet against it when I've got the feeling and ignore everything else.

Therefore, I want to repeat the most important part of what I have been writing here. Entering the trade is not that important. How far is the SL is not that important as it seems when you trade this method. I just know that people like to focus on that matter so I gave some basic guidelines.


Regarding EURGBP, my first area of interest is 0.865. I'll be watching closely how the price reacts there. My real goal is 0.91. I added two new positions into EURGBP, both currently in the open loss.

I like your trades as they go with the trend. Good job and keep me please posted about the results.

Also, consider adding SP500 or Nasdaq to trading instruments if you can. They tend to trend a lot in one direction.
In a week I am going to attend the Finance Magnates summit in London. Someone going there too?
UJ was stoped out. I opened a second one, who know if the 35 sma can hold, i have a target at 122.200 and MN is in a Uptrend right now

I am currently with no margin left as I went long on NASDAQ and SP500 so I am waiting for how markets develop and I can relax a bit with not much trading involved.

I use a similar method to trade, one question if I may: Do you care about news or do you only focus on what is happening on the Weekly/4H charts?

Hi Froggy,

glad to see another trader who uses this method. I do not care about news at all. The price usually goes in the direction of the main trend afterwards, so I just focus on building the position in the right direction.
