Am using pivots from day week and month..as support or resistance areas.. with a lot of success..on your DAX chart you had the DAY pivot marked ..I assume that what it was as i had the same marked at or around that area.. that line was in middle of gap down ..so non event.. so i used the monday bar pivot wich according to my chart was 12107..it ran throu the top of the consolidation area and it fell away from that point..hope this explains clear enough what i was getting at..in my calculation i use both H/L/C/O...and H/L/C.. mark 2 lines.... not trying to poke my nose into your very interesting post..JUST commenting..have noticed when usinf pivots fron day its worth looking back over past 3 days and averaging..just my opinion of course

Ok understood. I use the D pivots (Pivots Multitimeframe with todays open and Y's high/low option) and the W pivots both from the first post. All good for target areas as hundreds of posts over the years show.
I have been using the 15 min for a while now with a 15 lwma. A quick eye ball shows the buy above sell below the lwma general bias is not a bad view to have (obviously you can have other trade ideas for turns). If there is some consolidation after the break through the ma as highlighted by the blue rectangles fine. This morning there was a strong initial move below the 15 min lwma which I did not get anything on.
The 1 min chart shows the move back up to 11750, then down to todays open 11725 then the small retrace higher which failed and gave a lower high. Entry 11723, exit after the volume came in below 11700 at 11686 for 37 pips. Also a good example of a 15/85 trade so I was happy to exit that area (price breaks below 15, runs through round number to 85 area).
Did not try for later sells as the morning had already done more than 100 pips, the volume below 11700 was a concern.
I missed out completely yesterday and earlier this morning due to other commitments. Ordinarily I would not be looking to take first trades this deep into a move but the last 2 days have not been normal, anyway sold the LH at 11379 and then at 11343 for +61 and +31.

My first trade this morning was the lower high 11.13 chart time 12133 which was a loser. Obviously ranged for a period then I got the next 2 x HL's for +40 and +33 exiting at TP's.

My first DAX trade, I also had a GBPUSD LH sell just below 1.2300 which I exited just above BE.
Dax has been interesting recently. Trading 5 lots at the moment due to higher stops (so half a normal fx lot) used. Still scaling in but with bigger gaps between trades than previously due to the amount of volatility.
1st trade (not shown) was a lower high sell just after the LO green line for -25. Got the HL buy at 9208 with a 2nd trade scale in 9273 exiting both 9286 for +90. Did not buy again as I thought the CT move up was enough (boy was I wrong).
Price then moved up strongly and I got the 2b sell on the close below 9500 at 9481. Scaled in at 9374 which hit my stop for -21 before I could make it bigger - spreads had jumped much higher. Scaled in again for a sell at 9375 exiting both at 9368 for +120.
I had reloaded the TM ea and forgot to change the lot size and stops/TP's. Ouch. Anyway I missed the first big move down. Before 10.51 chart time had 2 losing sells on some big spikes both took me out quick. Realised there was a problem after checking the trades. Changed back to 5 Dax lots (half fx lot) and had another trade that at least covered the losses from the first 2 trades.
Sold the 2 b reversal 8735 and scaled in on the LH 8661. My TP's 8409 and 8404 just missed on the first move down, on the retest of 8400 was happy to close manually for 540 pips.

That first trade lasted ........... drum roll please .............. 2 yes 2 seconds for a $426 loss.
Had very little time in front of the computer and this is one of those days to cash in big time so despite one good trade I cannot help feel a little like something got away.
OK missed the move up entirely. Price topped out at 9150, fell to 9000 jumped up and gave LH entry just below 9050 chart time 11.14. When I looked price had already moved so waited for the 9000 break of the 2 point in the 1 2 3 pattern. Entry 8989 close 8878 for 111 pips.
Had to leave computer and missed the clean LH's that followed.

Have you back tested this strategy? I have done some on this so just wondering what your reason was for the entry as price did move lower into the SR area.

You bought on the way down. But of course you don't know where the move lower will finish (it could carry on lower) until you have a positive close to confirm the 1 2 3 higher low. So I was just wondering if you have tested a strategy, x pips lower, an indi oversold, SR area that led to this specific buy.
