Hey there Vantage,

I see things are still plugging along here very nicely and folks are clearly finding their way to profit

I have read and read and read some more probably 95% of this thread and I never realized it but I actually trade very similar setups to you. Most of my trades are continuation and rarely reversals.

But at any rate I have since modified my template slightly and find myself kicking myslef for not realizing this stuff sooner. Heck even your MM is similar to mine and I have had very similar percentages as you as well. Very ironic how this has been here but I never reaized how similar our methods are.

I trade mostly the asian session and stick primairly to the EJ. Occasionaly I will check out the UJ and the EU and GU but they don't really provide as many opportunities for my chosen session.

I also have found some ways for me to take some exits which work fairly well. When I get some time I would be happy to post up some example charts to show some of the things I look for when exitign if you don't mind.

I would hope it would add to what you have here and not take away from it if you know what I mean.

You are most welcome to post your set ups. I'm sure there will be others that would like examples of Asian session trades.

No problem at all. I have to say the rules are essentially the same once I have some time maybe this evening I will see if I can post a couple examples. Last nights Asian session had a cople of setups. The only difference is I concentrate on the Yen pairs since they are the ones that move mostly during that time. I am personally partial to the EJ but that is just me

Sorry for not saying welcome earlier I don't seem to have seen a notice this was posted. Anyway welcome and I'm looking forward to your posts.
I have had a very frustrating two days with life getting in the way of trading. Don't you just hate it when that happens.

I wasn't in front of the computer for this double top at the 25 psych level with some nice CII divergence.

I was at the computer for the lower high sell on 5400. Now despite the 5400 lh being a solid system trade I didn't want the first trade of day to be those circumstances ie right on 5400. It was a lower bounce from key level (prev bounce from 5400 as you can see went to 25 level) also a nice shooting star on 5 min as I recall (this is 7RB). So we didn't take that one.

I missed them but I thought these were great set ups. They highlight how I'd like to trade 7RB's going forward.

Not happy but nevermind, after labour day hols Mon normal vol/trading will resume no doubt.

This morning was a real pain. With the 1hr suggesting up we didn't look at any of the potential sells. Murphys law we sat for 2 hours plus waiting for a buy, go and make coffee and miss the high vol hammer close and the move up for the day (the move down was news related).

After the news we left as the NFP sideways junk took over. Oh well it won't be the first time we missed op's and it won't be the last.

Just wanted to show the set up, good 15 min candle with vol in direction of 1hr, nice 7RB hl, gotta love that.

Ragarding 2B and 7RB setups and the like, I know you have mentioned them and I believe even briefly explained (but I can't find the post) but I am curious to know what those codes reference.

If it's not too much trouble could you please point me to the reference or post up an example with some info about it?

The 2b link is on the first post, see the link under trade 3.

The 7RB (range bar 7 pips) contained copyright code so we had to take off. That leaves me with a problem posting 7RB trades in future?

The answer might be to try and find a free source of range bar candes that anyone can use.
I found it was easy to miss the formation of the next constant range bar. I was looking for an indicator to give me an audio signal, but the only one I found (on Forex TSD) also gave a Message Box alert every time it fired, and cancelling this became tiresome. I altered it by adding on a sound module from another indicator. The extra inputs could also make it useful for much higher value bars, say ones that form every hour or two. AlertSoundRepeats will set how many "dings" you get when the indicator fires. DelaySeconds sets how many seconds elapse between each ding ( in reality in needs a new tick to set the alarm going, not a set number of seconds, so if the market is slow, this time delay will be more than the number of DelaySeconds). Default is set to one ding. The original indicator with Message Box alerts is here

I don't have a problem waiting for 7 RB to close, when set ups occur we're sitting there patiently waiting for it.

As was the case here. CII divergence on 1hr, 30 min, 15 min and 5 min. Dble top, 15 min doji. Entry taken when 7RB showed div and neg close.

Target run down to 50 level. I had to pop out and missed the perfect system lh trades that followed.

I missed the failure at the 50 level, and next I looked, price had done almost 100 pips. And given today is Labour Day, I did not expect much at all. EU has now moved 40 pips since LO versus GU at 133 so far. Someone has got it in for the pound, by the look of it, lol.......

No I had to pop out and when I got back session entering the poss quiet time and the nice lh below 5400 had run a bit already.

Today was one of those perfect days (5 min or 7RB didn't matter) that have lovely lh's and gu does its range. Nice!

This is the 5 min chart for today. This is the perfect example of what we are looking to do. The dble top/lh is after LO so the prob is that the head fake has now occurred. We are then looking for the 125 pip range down from there. 2 pretty standard lh's follow.

We sold at 5480 (see above) and exited when I had to go out, we thought with US hols it would get quiet fairly quickly.

You only need to catch a couple of these range trades a month to dramatically increase your returns.

Talking of 2b's we missed the 2b sell below 5425 level on the 7RB chart. The multi bottom earlier 5355 with CII divergence buy was a little early for us. Nice set up though.

We took this lh and just waited for DO 5392 to clear.

Exit +24 when 5360 held a few times.

The standard setting on all time frames 0, 14, 3, 9, 3, 13, 33. Appears to work well on all time frames.

What Mrs V and I are doing is looking for divergence confirmation in and around the times/areas where we are expecting moves ie at key levels. For example the 2b today was at the 50% of Y's range/late US session high around the London open head fake reversal.

A classic set up we are looking at and Islander/Medici will be all over I'm sure.

Yes, I know. An indicator! Pretty good divergence indicated!


Edit: Not looking very promising though.

Edit: Gave it up as a bad job. Price never broke through the highs of the small candles underneath the "2b" on the chart.
