Some moves are suspect, I decided to share one of them.

It's not 5 pm in NY time (happened exactly at 3 p.m.) it's really weird to assist that, when I don't see this spike on other brokers.
I trade live with FPMarkets.

it isnt manipulation. more likely a bad tick from datafeed.
ie; a Quote server came online prior to being updated and stable > MT4 cant tell the difference and detected it as best bid.

Mon-Wed. Japan and China was on holiday. these 2 countries account for 80% of fx volume. so its highly plausible that servers were taken offline for maintenance or upgrades or to save cost from the prior friday''s close due to the anticipated decrease in volume.

u can verify it by looking at the bad tick's low. it's spike down would have been around friday/monday's open level. (proving it was not yet updated before pipped to datafeed).

btw brokers dont have control over the feed or when to turn a datafeed server on/off.
the bad tick can be from Prime's side (banks) taking servers offline, all the way to aggregator's side (OneZero/PrimeXM) taking servers offline

The issue lies in the fact that if the broker is running a B-book then they have most likely profited from thousands of affected clients for each tick spike sent by their LPs.

If pretty much every broker runs a b-book you'd think you would be getting rebate emails automatically whenever you were affected by a tick spike. In reality they continue on their merry way unless you you complain.

Awkward!

i agree with what you said, however. how a broker handles its books is a whole different topic and as im not certain of the inner workings of the broker in question, i will not comment on it.

I believe TS wasn't stopped out either, purely ranting at the tick.

the likelihood of someone getting stopped out or taking profits by a bad tick is close to zero. because best ask would still be within tolerance (sourced from a different LP), simply causing the bad tick to be shown as at 40+ pip spread in this scenario.. unless it was a market wide black swan, it too would be a whole different story.

I think you might it is data error. You try to contact broker, to know what they say. Then, you share information related to this broker
