As new trader, I always struggle to what Price Actions can do:

To identify whether there are more buyers than sellers (and vice versa) in the market at a given time span.

To identify the increase and decrease of momentum of buyers and sellers.
Momentum plays a role in assessing the level of risks you are taking.

To identify the shift from one market condition to another, depending on price deviation from the moving average.

To identify the beginning phase, the middle phase and the exhaustion phase of the market condition.

To identify or simplify multi-timeframe into a single time frame.

To get an objective (rather than a subjective) direction of price at any given time span.

To identify a higher probability of entry point within a major trend.

My trading still erratic. I can make a lot in single week, then can lose it faster.....

I subscribe to this thread trying to learn from experience trader.

If my post sound stupid (noob) please kick me out.

Sincerely

Sang Real

You are most welcome Sang.

We all struggle with one thing or another and in here, we do not judge traders regardless of your experience or time spent trading. The whole idea is to keep track of everything while learning everyday. Your post is no where near stupid and no one will be kicking you out.

Gaining 100% this week and loosing 100% next week is one of the main reason I never paid attention to scalping (Not against scalpers). For me, swing has been the only method that actually allow me bring home the bread more often even though it's never 100%. As s full time trader who started just a decade ago, I believe I still have limited experience but I will be willing to share the little I know. It will be upto you to filter through what you need and what you don't.

Welcome once again, and feel free to post and ask questions whenever you want. If I can't answer, I am sure there will be more experienced traders to help

Take care

Hi Frater,

Since you do not have mt4 and FF don’t support mt5 yet, I think we can have an exception.

Welcome to the thread. We look forward to seeing more of your contributions to the thread.

At the start of the trading session on Monday, I plan to long cable with a target of 1.3615 and afterwards (if prices reaches that level), I intend to short it with a target of 1.3500.

Of course, all this could change after the market opens, but this is my plan for the time being.

Gonna check this thread often.
Hope to see constructive trade ideas here.

Shouldn’t there be a rule that TEs should show full history (without custom start)? Otherwise... well, I leave it to the owner.

Hey everybody.

I'm new here in ForexFactory. I'm registered now and joined one of my trading accounts to the TE Explorer. I am from Catalonia, spain (excuse me if my english is not very god). I would like to joint that threat and keep contact with other traders.

I like to trade my ideas and don't listen anyone when I am trading, but I like to listen everybody and new ideas when I am not trading.

I will be happy to share knowledge with other traders

Hey gellowmellow,
I understand the sentiment for no custom start. We'll see what thread owner says.
In my situation, I began a particular strategy at the beginning of 2020, although at times over the past year, I have found it difficult to break old habits of how I used to trade (hence my wonky equity curve).
Traders can go through periods of evolution in how we interpret the market, and I am close to becoming content in my approach.

I have just this past week added a shorter term strategy to my 2 much longer term approaches (so now it's 3 approaches in one designed to complement each other).
Have a great week

Hi trumps, I just looked at your TE and saw a long position in cable from 1.29. I guess you're the type of trader that would've held onto bitcoin from a quarter a pop. I commend your discipline.

Hey Kaysole thanks for your comment.
Things have a way of working in cycles.
I have started studying USD index more closely and have had a strong bearish bias on it for quite a while (monthly chart). I find this really helps to interpret GBPUSD longer term, along with fibs.
I will try to get some charts uploaded tomorrow.
Thanks again, have a great week.

USD in a major downtrend.
Looking at the March 2020 wick, this has some way to fall.
May retest the broken trendline first.

Heyo trumps, I totally get it as I do same but sometimes if you have the resource, better to open another account so you can quantitatively assess the (old stategy+changes)’s future tested performance.

RE: custom start, owner’s thread, his rules. But I know we know how it can be misused later on.

Thank you for the chart.

I understand your argument for the dollar depreciation seen with a daily chart, but viewing the monthly, I don't see the major downtrend. If anything, from 2008 onwards, it seems to be in an ascending channel.

Of course, even the daily timeframe is considered long term, so it probably wouldn't make a difference anyway.

Now I don't know if you're strictly a TA trader or not, but I just came across this article on forexlive.com and Adam (the writer) gave some convincing arguments (in my opinion) for possible dollar strength in the future. It might not be a bad idea to take a look: https://www.forexlive.com/news/!/the...ounce-20210109

Anyways, your trades seem to be working out pretty damn well, so keep doing what you're doing and good luck.
