{quote} I meant, learn to read the candlesticks for spotting your entry/exit signals. Your lines indicate where the market should do something, turnaround, slow down, whatever... The candlesticks show the priceaction around these lines, and they either confirm what you think should happen, or they don't. Certain candles give very good and precise entry/exit signals around your lines. That's what I meant.

Ahh. I think you're referring to pin-bars and indecision candles, etc. I'm familiar with those. That, and using the size of candles to figure out who currently has control over the price.

LONG TERM SIGNALS:

  1. Long term LONG signal still holds for now.
  2. Long term LONG will change to SHORT if there are a convincing number of closes/opens below 1.0582
  3. *spike down to 1.0550 would be the lowest I'd expect to see - and it would need to go up from there pretty rapidly to above 1.0582 for LONG to hold...

NOTE about the 1.0550 above: this means if it spikes down to 1.0550 and does not "definitively close" below 1.0582, then still long. Yeah it is a bit subjective, but it works for me so... =D

SHORT TERM SUPPORT/RESISTANCE:

  1. There appears to be a TEMP RESISTANCE at 1.0634
  2. My Indications say that there could be a TEMP LONG SUPPORT at 1.0594.

MY PLAN:
Basically, my thoughts are we either definitively stay above 1.0582, or it starts to definitively close below 1.0582. Once I decide that the price is confirmed below 1.0582, I'll lift my long from 3/9 at 1.0575. I'll then strongly consider going short. THEN: if the price closes out the day at the next signal (will probably be 1.0594), we will be confirmed to be in a LONG TERM SHORT market cycle... Just my stuff though.

Our baby girl popped up a little earlier than we expected. I now have a daughter.. Fuck fx fuck everything.. She is so pink and smells so good. My only suggestion now can be, do your best with trading and have a family. I cant stop crying right now. I am lost for words. You all can call me daddy now...

Makes sense. Although I'm still learning to read these signals. But I understand the concept. It will just take a bit of time to be able to read them reliably.

Two things:
1.) Care about "all of those" - they all have potential to move the market and are all at the same time.
2.) Care about the 2 PM EST FED meeting about USD rate rise...

Basically, I'm in this market looking for the price to swing up or down to around my "value areas" (suppose you could call them support/resistance) at these news times and I don't care about what the particular number is really - just mainly looking for times where there are big enough reactions. So those are two potential "big reaction" time periods.

If you are not like me though, feel free to disregard what I say here. =D

Somehow I am bored, so I am reading candles on the USD Index, and I don't understand the last H1 candle. See chart. Anyone? There is no logic in this candle. You can call it a "pullback", but seriously, what causes this when it is this close on breaking down bearish? Someone or something clearly does not let it drop? (just yet) No it's not the pound.... and reading it back, you can spot this over and over. ignore the pivots for now, just read the price/candles. What is this, right before news...? {image}

hello teek, because yesterday daily candle has been rejected by the resistance fibo 50 (101.64), today the H1 candle going down and want to test again the new resistance, but will be rejected again, then going drop in 4 or 5 hours.
From daily chart you can see the head and shoulder pattern and this is the last try for USDX to climb up. It should up pass 102.2 to get back to the bullish track and surpass the head at 103.81.
Truly, i think it is impossible to surpass 103.81 this week...

If it does not break 1.0645 during NY session, the FED will bring this down to 1.0286 (remember this numbers to see if it rights)
I will cancel long and sell it when it breaks 1.0580. Target around number above ((

Edit: Closed my long with -20 pips
I think it will moves south on Thursday and Friday hard
