I am starting this thread so that any market losers or winners can vent, celebrate victories, report on that daily, weekly profit/loss etc...or acquire that "group hug" (if you will).

I will be first:

SUMMARY:
My system was the Holy Spirit System. Up until yesturday, live account had a profit/loss of 25% for just under 3 months. Today, recieved a margin call which wiped out 74.26% of deposited funds.

SYSTEM DISCREPTION:
Holy Spirit system which was inspired by God. The system is based on a number of buy/sell entries which are added or subtracted from the daily high/low. Plus, additional scalping was allowed. Currency pair GBPJPY.

TP/SL:
Take profit was based on 25pips. Stop losses are not set, but rather the position is closed based on Gods intervention/conformation prayer.

ACCOUNT STATUS:
Deposits: $190k
Profit/loss: -$142k

SUSPECT P/L CAUSE:
A test of faith. God will test us first before the breakthrough.
Contrary to holygraildom in application, jihadgeddon system,nevertheless is almost similar if not better in its outcome. Better here mean accumulating more red pips.

To be seriously involved with this system, you must have a guru, I mean the first one you meet in this forum who gives trade call is actually your guru.Dont ever hesitate to dump in 70% of your equity. if you dont trust your guru who will?

Your dont have to keep your finger cross at all..after all who would recognize your finger when the bomb attached to your body explode...

I have been using this method over and over and it never fail to amaze me how accurate one could be using this system. The accuracy could be measured by the number of margin calls one could get. The more the merrier.

Forget all those rsi,cs, macd etc etc nonsense. Even the 'punditest" here agreed that those are lagging indicators. It is similar to football games when the referee blew his final whistle and you started to analyze the game. What for? the score is already there.....dont be an i**@t

So find your guru now...here..right here..
Cheagil, Thank you for sharing that. I think we can all learn. Does anyone else want to share?
Cheagil, could you share about your live trading experience? Words of wisdom? or profit/losses?

I'm not only here to spoil the party but hopefully give you a hand, if I can.

You are mixing 3 things that will cause set-backs no matter what you do

  1. Hunting for the holy grail.
  2. God (intervention) in any market
  3. No stop/losses

1) The holy grail pops from the day your mind enters a state, whereas emotions is excluded from participating in your trading-decisions. The worst part of any given system is actually the human trader, until enough experience is attained to make worthy conclusions for improvements.

2) The only story I've heard where a trader have benefited from crossing religion into trading, was this lady who refused to lose because it was against here religion to give away money like that. So he forced herself how to avoid losses. Needless to say, see became successful.
But believing that God will enter your trades and push them in your direction is a safe and quick journey to self-destruction both mentally and financial. I would rather recommend charity than giving away your money. The money you lose is obtained (most likely) by people who have more than enough money.

 3) Even pro's with 20+ years of experience will suffer from losses. They know this and they really don't care because they have a plan they follow to the inch. They have enough confidence/experience that within the x next numbers of trades they will gain profits. Losses is big part of the game and only by accepting this statement and know how to handle it, is it possible to move on. It's almost like running a store. To sell something, you need to buy something. Hence an negative figure on your record until that ware is sold, with profit or not. Same as trading.

142.000 $ is a decent amount of cash. I hope you have gained the knowledge needed to improve your trading.

Holygraildom I hope that your post is a case of subtle irony that im not picking up on properly....

But otherwise maybe some tough love will help...If you indeed made these losses I hope you learned a few of the cliche forex lessons from this experience;

NB: My post here is based on the assumption from your post that you incurred the loss going from 190k to 50k in a series of trades in the last couple of days.

1) The absolute need for stop losses as explained above.

2) Dont overleverage/buy too many lots. I can extrapolate that if you got a margin call with around $50,000.00 in your account, if leveraged at 100:1 your open position size that got you into trouble was around 50 standard lots(depending on your broker). To be blunt, using this much of your account as margin (25%) on a short term trade without a stop is insanity. You only needed one normal days 300 pip GJ move to wipe out the majority of your not insubstantial account (let alone the 1k pips we have seen in the last couple of days!!).

3) Consider and reconsider your trades against market movements (not just on entry). What inspired you to go and hold long? I am legitimately interested considering that every single basis by which i trade indicated the strong possibility of the initial move from the 212 area down and without a doubt the crash once it broke and closed beyond 209.00?

Expensive lesson i guess!
