DislikedHere's a very quick test,
DislikedGreat work, Steve.
And thank you, bobasker.
This is where I am going to lag, not being very proficient with MT4.
DislikedLatest update in post 1, folks, incorporating Khalid's enhancements, listed in his doc or printed by stimpy here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...94#post5127294
Could someone run a visual backtest over, say, the last couple of weeks and check that the bot is sending the QuarterLot trades appropriately, and closing the entire position? If you have the attached template in your MT4 platform/Templates folder, Strategy Tester should load the indi's for you automatically. An Open Prices backtest is all you need - no need...Ignored
DislikedSteve & others - have you seen this post?
With the BBands_stop_V1 is not possible to choose a decimal for
deviation ,only a integer (1,2,3,...).
I have modified the code to have a decimal (0.50,0.66,1.32 ,1.50,...)
I name this indicator : BBands_stop_v2
I seems he's right. Using BBands_stop_v1, even if you enter Deviation=1.5 in the properties, the indi actually plots deviation 1.0. Try it on your charts.
I don't know how much difference...Ignored
I am aware of it, and have the code (// modified by sohocool October 2011) which plots correctly.
But believe me a difference of half a deviation is not going to make or break this EA. The EA main entry, along with the exit, shall remain on 2 devaiations
Entries are less important than exits, which are less important than position sizing, which in turn is less important than trader mind set.
All the posts by Steve, Jiva, and myself clearly indicate this EA is still a work in progress, and shall remaim so for a few days...Ignored
DislikedAfter doing a bunch of reading it look's really interesting Steve....I've used a system of jiva's once before and it also was a lot of fun....Have it loaded up and will give it a go.....
BTW, I also read the post by forexpippy on hedging....have never seen that before.....I didn't see anything that would tell me that he copy and pasted that from somewhere else so I will assume that he wrote that himself.....If he did he ought to get a vouch for that, without a doubt the two best paragraph's on hedging I've ever read...
I hope he reads this and confirms...Ignored
DislikedDone the update Post 1/
You will need the latest indi - also in post 1.
I'm checking this one out, but on the latest update you've got an extra '.' on the indi name.
ReadIndicatorValues() when calling the custom indi
"BBands_Stop_v2_2.0." needs to be "BBands_Stop_v2_2.0"
I show 4 instances.
DislikedNot quite there with the code yet.
The bot took this trade earlier. This would have been correct had there been a HalfLot trade already in place but there wasn't, so this was a premature trade.
Fix coming soon once my alfluenceness of incoholness allows me to sort it out. Probably tomorrow, given the time it has taken me to type this.
DislikedSuper effort, Steve. Now I know: for an EA to work properly someone has to burn candle at both ends.
hiredwiph, bateman, and I have the time zone advantages, but it is past mid-night in South Yorkshire.
DislikedFor sure it is, and I am damned if I can see where the problem lies and it is driving me nuts.
There will be this tiny little logic bloop.........
DislikedSleep over it, please.
I doubt if this is being live traded at this time, and no harm will come by solving this at a more measured pace.
DislikedHehe. Yes, but I have this occd itch thingy......................
Plus, you would be surprised by how hard a tiny logic bloop is to find, and how easy it is to solve once found, yet how devastating it is until found...........
Anybody got George's phone number?
