A very extreme case related to the thread topic:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_O._Barton

False, fundamental religous believes combined with trading / gambling addiction with an incredible tragic outcome.
This is one facet of the incredibly high price society pays for an industry selling one big lie till retail traders are getting FUBAR.

Forex is a negative sum game for losers - don't participate and help others to overcome their addiction.

It's true in other industries as well. The failure rate in nature is very high, perhaps evolution is not random but selective. Choosing the strongest and getting rid of the weakest. I think the personal journey toward success is traumatizing, but it's the person you become that really matters. Taking all that pain, surviving and then thriving will make you not only rich in wealth but also rich in character. I have a saying I tell my girlfriend, " per dolerem vir evolvo" Latin for through pain man evolves.

I don’t know why you are taking interest in forex suicides news since it is a pessimistic emotional thinking which can gradually make you more emotional. I personally think it is just bullshit to take one’s life for only the losses he or she is facing in the forex market. forex is just a part of life, not the whole life. I personally prefer to give my time on the success stories of other pro traders that can encourage me to perform better.

Reason for not being a day trader:

https://www.businessinsider.com/reas...s-impossible-8

Why would a 40 year trading veteran discourage a new wannebe daytrader....?

Even those who survive somehow over long periods of times regret to have started it and not dedicated their precious time to something productive.

Hudi,

this same Altucher guy:
"In 2017, he moved into advising on cryptocurrency investing, despite having condemned Bitcoin in 2013 as "a fad, or a scam, or a ponzi scheme, or worse."

so perhaps the cited article being 2010, chances are he may changed that view on day trading too, likely multiple times.
wherever direction the wind is blowing...
there is always, always another trade!!

Profitfarmer,
you are right about this guy.

Looks like he went over the edge in a almost epic way. That's why I thought it fits in this thread.
He is on a path of self destruction and some statements and his homepage are bat shit crazy.

Is he a credible source? Likely not - he drifts away to snake oiler business and calls it reinvention of himself. OK.... well, maybe not the best way to reinvent yourself.....

Current status:
https://chooseyourselffinancial.com/...habrain-alert/

There is a reason that someone becomes like this.

Maybe kind of a warning example in regards to the potential evolution of of a daytrader.....

You can win at this game but first you must know who you are trading against.
