Feels like market is just waiting for more confirmation. The mood is more cautious now but doesn't seem like it will cause a full on reversal yet.

300 pips off 200 day ema is normal.. its moved 150 now.. what confirmation were u waiting for? I hope it goes deeper than 300 this time. Its not a sure thing. If not. pa is already 1/2 way there. When near the 200 day ema, trades should be larger. They should be shrinking nearer the 300 pip mark as reward potential goes down and risk increase...

was referring to boulder's post about navarro.
Navarro was pouring cold water over the china deal optimism. And markets seem to have turned cautious.

Honestly I want it to hit 1.1 today lol.
But with no major events this month, the market is going to jump at any rumour they get.

Since trade deal optimism is what sent the dollar rallying, a denial of a trade deal will also send the dollar tanking.

Not necessarily. denial of trade deal could result in a more broad risk-off tone which often supports the dollar-though in this specific scenario, probably more so gold.

That's true.
But sometimes people sell the dollar in anticipation of a rate cut if things turn sour.

Honestly I'm not a fundamental guy.
I wish I knew when people decides to buy dollar because its a safe haven or when people sell dollars because they anticipate rate cuts.

My current thought is:
-If we're risk on mode: then we sell dollars if we anticipate rate cuts.
-If we're risk off mode: then we buy dollars if we anticipate bad things happening.

But that's just my guess. I wish someone could tell me...

use what you like as added levels.. This one is using sets of 1750.. assuming 350 pips is normal as the trend drops. 1750 half. atm pa reached 1026 a norm in the last move since 108x low and recent 200 test. I think all is bearish. What I think and reality is not always the same. Its always going to look bearish at a bottom, it's always going to look bullish at a top. I dont want to add fresh shorts w/o some confirmation.. such as a week closing lower. Because places like 1026 are 1/2 way points.. often bulls in this case are waiting for their retrace to enter. On the other hand bears see this.. and wait for a new bounce to add, approx 75 pips..This may keep some out of trouble. You can tweak this and just cherry pick whatever you want. Maybe 75/100% it's all up to u..

The chart is showing the atm level is 175 pips from the 200 day ema. It's not in stone, and all patterns fail eventually.

If your a trader who waits for confirmation gets in, and it always seems to turn after your in. Maybe its best to wait for the retrace 50%/100% toward the previous top or bottom. The need to always be in the market kills many accounts. A tiger waits for food to come to it. Then stalks it when near. A crock may wait an entire year to pick off the weak crossing the river. They have survived billions of years doing this. Use as little energy as possible to catch your pray.

Everyone is unique, this isn't one size fits all.. You Adjust it to your style and time frame. Of course many are scalping and should use a smaller time frame. So the levels will be less than 350 pips. But no matter the time frame, the 200 day can set the smaller ones course. Ok enough, with rant. We all are trading against ourselves. We all need to figure out what we did wrong and stop repeating it. Find out what you did right and duplicate over and over. Keep evolving or die. What works today, may not next year. Only the individual can do this, first off by being honest with self. If you can master this last paragraph. You will never have to work for another again. You will be your own boss. You control your destiny..
