Folks, unfortunately we had a REALLY bad day today. After 5 winners in a row a loss finally came (as they will) and it's not so bad that it's nearly a 3% loss...what's BAD is that I didn't allow our 5 previous WINNERS to run the full course of the day from start to finish, allowing us to have enjoyed 2-3% over the day. It wouldn't hurt so much to lose nearly 3% if you've made 10-15% prior to that.
After reviewing our previous trades from this week, I realised that I was leaving so much more money on the table by worrying about news events and closing out early, when in fact, news releases don't appear to have much effect on this style of trading. So today I promised myself that I would hold out until the very end of the day...win, lose or draw! We lost today but, that certainly won't always be the case. I know there are folks that keep adding money after every win but, I would STRONGLY advise against that in the future. This method sometimes goes 18 days without a loss but, losses will occur and they're not likely to happen twice in a row. I would hold out ever adding to the fund until a loss does occur.
Now, I have configured next week's trades and most of the trades that we have now are signals for Monday as well so, I will keep those positions open because swaps are minuscule compared to the spreads and commissions involved with opening new trades. I did this same thing last Thursday and everything worked perfectly.
I have now closed all trades that didn't appear as a signal for next week and there will be 6 new pairs to add to the mix come market open. Sorry for the down day folks. We will certainly make up for it, I assure you.
One last thing. I have set my Trade Explorers to be visible to buddies only. You guys are my buddies so I thought you could all see it. I have been searching FF to try and determine what constitutes a buddy. Try subscribing to this thread if you haven't already and see if that works. If it doesn't I will have to contact support. If any of you would kindly let me know if such action works for you, I would greatly appreciate it. Have a nice weekend my dears! xxx
