I'm still testing things out on the DAX. There was a bit of movement this morning but nothing much to trade. I've got a few questions on the attached chart if that's ok. Plus one other:- do you use a tight algo type definition of the patterns or ...

I'll have a look at Sierra. If I was in a US time zone I would also look at futures but here in UK DAX has lots of volatility & I can spread bet it without paying tax. Broker's spread is just 1 point. Zee

Hi I've been trading similar patterns (especially hat/head&shoulders/3peaks3valleys) on DAX M1 period for a while. But there is a bit of noise to deal with. I would never have thought of using line chart & range bars as a way of clarifying price ...

I just watched the vid & some others - very interesting if eccentric (that's not a criticism). I can understand that every price turn must start with candle going in the opposite direction, that's a tautology. But not every candle in the opposite ...

If we're just looking at horizontal lines do we really need candles? How would it be to trade looking at just price, a series of lines & whether price is above or below some datum points (eg open of day or last hour)? Perhaps this is more like ...

Hi TooSlow Thanks for your thread. It has given me a few things to think about. I use statistics to inform my trading but draw lines near recent swing high or lows. Do you think it matters where one draws the horizontals? Could one draw a line at ...

This is an important point. Many people will assume that all rapid moves away from a price denote s&d area. How do we tell pivot point from s&d? How long does price need to remain to form base? What is going on in the market to form these patterns? ...

There's been discussion about the different levels. I think they are all useful but have different chracteristics. For what it's worth, here's my take:- The psych numbers 00, 50, 25, 75 are powerful s&r levels. I trade bounces off these using limit ...

eu morning — Is this the sort of plot to be done on the spreadsheet (but here it's superimpossed on the chart)? You can see how price moves & how long it takes. Very interesting. 1) Price moves up (down) to one of the 12.5 pip levels & goes ...

Hi Mongolian & everyone, This is an excellent thread that I've just read through. I like the simplicity of a grid system. I think I see the logic:- In a trend price moves through the grid levels, pulls back a little & continues onward. We enter ...

I can see that on my m15 too. Off for some lunch now but I'll keep an eye on it when I return. Incidentally, I see a good tl break on gu at about 0730 this morning. I would have taken it as a pivot cross but too early for me! zee
