Price Pivot Zones is a term used in the James16 Chart thread. Basically zones/areas where price flips between being support and resistance. If I've got it correct, Wizard is saying that he prefers short entries where the PPZ was last acting as ...

Hi Tom, Re: "huge stop orders". Would this mean stop sell orders so that you'd expect when price hits the level it powers on through with all the selling? Or does it imply there are many limit buys near the support area with associated stop loss ...

Ah OK. That was a massive fall that you predicted. At the moment its retracement (45.42) is near the middle of the 2 previously mentioned levels, maybe just getting back into a more sensible daily range(?) Thanks.

Thanks for the webinar. Whats the reasoning behind favouring 46.21 (1h bar highs) over the 44.60 ish bar lows? Deeper retrace or? Thanks, John

I don't have your 4h feed, so no chart (sorry). Pin 2 seems very small relative to the other bars in the move down. Being with the trend is a plus for it. But if you took it, you would have to expect possible trouble/reversals at the 0.9800 RN, any ...

Took the BEOB break and -0.6R on this. Being cautious was OK, but by getting in beyond those potential trouble areas, I was just entering closer to other trouble that I hadn't recognised (1.6130 area). Lesson learnt on trading into traffic (and the ...

Daily GbpUsd. I'm liking this dBEOB. Reasonable size, at swing high, has tested and broken through major PPZ's at 1.6270 and 1.6250 and neg div against Macd. I have a dPPZ at 1.6187 and a lesser 4h PPZ at 1.6160 that I'd like to see broken before a ...

Maybe another thing to consider is what time of day are these bars closing........late NY session? Therefore, could some of their formation be attributed to some late day profit taking? And then if you enter, afterwards, you are subjected to lower ...

I know there is some correlation between Eur and Gbp, but I still find it amazing that both the Eur/Aud and Gbp/Aud are "deciding" whether to respect their key levels (1.3600 and 1.5950 respectively) at exactly the same time.

I was thinking entry upon break of the low (traditional J16/Mike). But now you have me thinking. Because it also is a consolidation breakout, rather than a simple BEOB at a swing high (as you pointed out), maybe waiting for a retest of the breakout ...

Thanks Jim. Agreed. I'm viewing it as 2 different plays. The traditional break of a wBEOB (and the consolidation), and a daily retest of PBT & CB within the background of the wBEOB. For the wBEOB break, there are a few prior weekly bar lows (in the ...

GbpAud wBEOB — The week prior to the latest wBEOB had a bar low of 1.5943. On the daily this area is reflected by multiple bar lows. It has acted as a PPZ since last Oct (although maybe more of a support than resistance role......is this ...

My concerns are the close below its open, its size, and trading into traffic (put a line at 1.6182 on the daily or 4h). You intend to manage it tightly, but still questionable imo (which isn't worth much!). Another thing to consider is whether the ...

The xxx/chfs have me spooked at the moment. Maybe its the long wicks, more likely just me. I've been looking for opportunities off some of the main PPZ's, but can't convince myself to go either with or against the trend. Is that BUOB at a minor ...

EurCad — Agree that its at an interesting spot. I'm also cautious of a PPZ around the 1.3540-50ish area if the daily BUOB/DBLHC breaks long. Cheers, John

Thanks Jim. This is the bit I'm wrestling with at the moment. The touch-retest trade often occurs before or during the formation of a PA confirmation bar (I'm also wondering if later touches are less reliable than earlier touches??). Maybe "when the ...

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here Jarroo, in Pb's absence. I like the clean structure of the support resistance, but am struggling to find reasons for entry other than the small 4h pin or a touch entry. Maybe 3 or so rejection candles on the ...

I was looking for a lower timeframe entry once price broke 1.3500 and could only find the 4h BEOB. Entered on retest of broken support at 1.3490. The bold 1.3430 marks a PPZ off the weekly, reflecting the top of the daily consolidation Jarroo ...
