Yep, and I cant see any reference to the size of the area of interest, just that there has to be one. I can only assume its there to calculate trade size maybe?

Yes, I get you now - essentially you're looking for the new high or low of the day and in most cases, price will retrace before continuing (if even it does continue), so there should be time enough for a trade.
