Hi Profitfarmer, Vanostrade is using BIG martingale number to recover from the hedge. In his example, for 0.1 lot entered in the hedge, he is using 1.45 lot in the third trade. If it turns against him, he would obviously need a safety SL based on ...

Understood. So, you are using martingale on the third trade. The point is: how will you exit if the third trade is triggered but reverse before reaching TP ? Are you using a global close at - xxxx% DD ?

Thank you for your explanations Vanostrade. Still I do not understand how you exit of the hedge. If I look at your chart in post 4, I see: 1st sell at 109.85 1st buy at 110.82 2nd sell at 110.62 All trades are closed at 110.5, so for me, the trade ...

This is not my understanding. For ilustration purposes, let's imagine you enter into a hedge with a 10%DD. To get out of it and to get your 1% return, you will need a move up or down of 11% (your 10% locked loss + your 1% return), which means a move ...

Thanks Vanostrade ! I understand you add a new trade each day until your basket gets profitable. Seems a great strategy in trending period, but I'm afraid you will hit margin call during ranging. Each hedge means 10/15% DD, whereas you need each ...

Hi Vanostrade ! When you are in hedge, how do you manage to close in profit ? Not clear to me!

Nice strategy but you have to cautious with the martingale factor and your account size. 0.05 martingale after loss would have killed the account in year 2008. 0.01 increase with 1000 starting balance would have survived.

Sorry for responding late and thanks for your messages. My broker is Global Prime. UlliC, my understanding was the same as yours. But I have an email from them stating that if the gap were on the other side, my order would have been closed at SL. So ...

Martingale is not the problem here. As already stated, Gscalper already used it in the TE history for a loss of 8.3%. So can't see any money mangement issue. SL was clearly missing and it may be due to a mechanical or psychological error. That's a ...

Buying at the current low of the day may be a wise move.... or not. But I definitively have to revise my definition of swing trading....

It's not all over. GY has not moved this week so far, but trend will start sooner or later and hopefully Geppy will be positioned to rack pips. Gscalper is doing a great job, but the race is not over. Doing that publicly and with real money, you ...

Just discovered the thread. Really entertaining !! Swing vs scalping, both can win if well traded. Geppy, as swing trader, how come do you have short and long trades open at the same time ? Just curious... Gscalper, I like your equity ...

Hi all, I am currently trading a profitable manual system and need a reputable coder to automatise it. See trade explorer in my profile named "Road to riches". I made a manual backtest of the last 10 years that shows consistent profitability. ...

Thanks for your comment Tom. In fact, the system already include a soft martingale scheme and spread are not significant in comparison with profit/loss per trade (2 pips spread vs 100 pips). My doubt are more related to the best MM to be applied.
- Fbird replied Jun 9, 2016
Well, this is a 1:1 RR system and you got the monthly breakdown of winners/losers. Don't need the system to give your opinión on MM. However, I will make it available to contributing members. Thanks for your participation though.
