Very poetic Ken And yes, they are intertwined to some extent, just like the US and Japan in general. There is a whiff of divergence in the air of course (Fed trying to raise rates, BOJ trying to increase QQE), but ultimately where will it end up? ...

True, but not just yet, and subject to a national referendum. I have no idea how that would go, but it is a possibility. In the short term he's more likely to increase the stimulus package, as promised many times before the election, so I think that ...

If the UK leaves then the US will do whatever it takes to minimise the effect on its economy. One year, two years... who knows? But ten years sounds like a hollow threat to me. And Brits don't respond well to threats! I like Obama but I think he's ...

This guy is ALWAYS bearish EU! But I tend to agree with him. It's only a matter of time before 1.35 cracks.

This isn't news at all. Of course they're going to refrain from new measures until they know how the current ones are working. Didn't Draghi say something to this effect in the press conference? Smells like a bull trap to me.

Nikkei's flying up! I guess this isn't such bad news after all.

Thank you, foreigners, for giving those of us who know what's going on in Japan the bargain of the year!

They tried that in the past (before Abe). Couldn't reach an agreement. These are politicians after all, not normal sensible people.

Do Holland not do that already?
