GBPJPY Breakout (follow-up) — Hello all, Most of the follow-up comments have been via email and/or PM, so I thought a quick post update was in order. This system continues to work well. Even when markets are choppy. Remember to use the 60 ma ...

My money is on all of these forming sideways channels now, as we are entering the summer months... Everything ( including equites ) are falling off record/or near record highs... It looks like all the pairs are defining the channels that they will ...

I hope your script works... I've never been able to get the "offline" charts to continue to update... Here's hoping... Lol...
- riffster replied May 30, 2007
Yes, but the script is "buggy" and doesn't always produce a live chart. lol... I would like to understand why it seems to work sometimes, but not all the time... and yes I leave the chart that I'm converting from open and unchanged, but that doesn't ...

The CMS charts ( which are free for demo accounts ) have a 2 hour time frame which is very good too. I just found that 200 min seems to be the sweet spot because it makes your system more effective with better entry prices. I would use an even ...

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but: If you use a 200min chart with a 150 ma and follow the rules, it seems to work very well on most of the majors... MACD stays @ default... Thanks for sharing your original system, it seems to have merit... ...

No problem, patience is always required for effective forex trading... lol... Anyhoo, as far as the GJ is concerned, yes I have a very aggressive cut off. If buy trades aren't triggered before around 1:10 am MST (mountain standard time) then it's a ...

Nothing to do with this post, I just notice a lot of newbieish traders, so wanted to help out a bit... Notice the 4 hour channel... If it holds it should be a nice ride down or if it breaks out of the top...

No, a defined channel isn't really needed. I just don't like to see a very tight range (reason) because the cable likes to head fake in and around tight ranges, but not always enough to hit your limit... The 23 pip filter on GJ seems to be enough as ...
- riffster replied May 23, 2007
AHHH! Oh man, I would prefer that folks try this via a demo account, but glad to hear that things are good...

If more traders would do that and be patient for entries and exits, we wouldn't have a 95% failer ratio in this market... lol... I know, easier said...

Please also note from the charts posted, that I also use a buffer for both pairs. GU = +/- 5 and GJ = +/- 23 before the trade is triggered. As far as the GJ, no established range is needed, the buffer solves that problem, but the GU likes to ...

For me, big MME's like NFP are danger zones for any method/system, so I just don't trade those days... and the historical data suggests that my approach might be a wise one... but I would be interested in hearing from other traders about this topic, ...
