Lol. But in any case, the client rep ack that there was an outage. But really weird because it only happened to eur/usd. Other pairs seemed to be fine

Oanda's EUR/USD stopped printing prices for 15 mins. Wow. Just wow. It stopped pricing on Oanda web platform and TradingView. I just live chatted with the customer service rep, and she said... "It works on our end on desktop platform".

The only two things you can do is (1) Go to your country's regulators and report the case immediately (assuming that Oanda is regulated in your country and you had opened it with the local office) and/or (2) Get a lawyer

Definitely agree that Oanda, like all marketmakers, have to balance their books and hedge their risk against market conditions and clients' trades. I don't think Oanda is a shady broker at all, and doubt they would do something like that. But all ...

When you deposit cash in Oanda, and if you lose all your money, when does the money go? Oanda.

The eurozone has been pretty quiet in terms of news in the past few days. So if you have been following USD index, it correlated quite strongly with euro. Technicals in euro mattered little sometimes, because USD strength or weakness was leading the ...

Well obviously it only makes sense to trade index futures with a broker that provides the real index futures instrument. Trading index futures with IB for example, gives you immediate fills and the spread is always only 1 tick. Oanda is still a ...

Agreed. When you see those HUGE 1 min candle spikes out of nowhere, it's usually machines. And they also usually retrace back. Retail traders who FOMO will jump in to sell at the bottom

I got out with a small loss. No sight of bulls anywhere..... Not planning to short at multi-level support either. Too much noise right now

Not convinced by bears either. Seeing another possible fake out and re-entrance into the asian range. Took a modest position just to test water too. If support holds and we see more momentum, will add more

So that's a mean reversion strategy in play here. That's an assumption that the bounce will happen at 1.1260 - 1.1275 region, so in the event that it didn't bounce off that zone, I suppose you had a tight stop to handle that?

Where are you based? I have an ongoing issue with lags. I don't play FUT cos you gotta spend so much to be ranked. I usually play online seasons and 2v2 online seasons. Got up to div2 for online seasons but the lag just kills everything.

I see how 1.127 is a good support area but whether it was gonna bounce, I couldn't tell. How did you set 1.127 buy order without seeing how price approached that zone?

FIFA20? I love 2v2 online seasons

Today is a crazy day tbh. Bears took control for a while, and lost control, and spiked down without warning, and now we see a strong retracement. I took a short when I saw that spike. But it didn't continue to move, so I closed out at BE, again.....

Cool cool. From how I see it, it stopped perfectly at Monday's high. Resistance turned support image

I actually hardly touch indicators. I get very confused when there are too many lines and stuff on my screen. I usually only use 200SMA in the daily timeframe to be careful when it approaches that zone since 200SMA is universally known and used.

Good luck trying to understand the market. I've long given up on that. I only try to follow whatever the market shows me. At any point in time, there are thousands of participants, buying and selling. Demand and supply, and liquidity drive the ...
