If you want to catch trends that way, maybe you should loose the indicators, just plot the 20 HMA on the chart or maybe 20 EMA and see how you'll do trading off fractal breakouts.

Nice idea. You might try putting in higher period HMA as a filter - e.g. 80. What lookback value do you use for SSL?
