Why would you think that? I've been here for 17 years and have at least 17 more to go.

Thanks again, that's working well. As long as they're different sized, everything works as it should. With this strategy, if one trade is going negative, the next signal will be higher probability, so I don't mind putting on a larger trade. ...

Thanks! That helps me out. I'll just take a different sized order. If I get that "off quotes" error, add some size and try again.

I just opened a couple demo accounts with oanda because MT4 was shut off at TradersWay to all US customers. Just when I had an EA that works. First hangup, ofuanda closes forex from 16:59 until 17:05. What on earth? Are we allowed to use foul ...

Any other platform that runs my MT4 programs? What platform would that be?
- blueruby replied Apr 3, 2024
I would think the big banks love small traders. When our stops pile up, they run them. We provide liquidity to the markets which they manipulate.
- blueruby replied Apr 2, 2024
That would be great. But if they're not letting us use it at all, it's not likely they're going to sell it to a US company.
- blueruby replied Apr 2, 2024
My MT4 platform has trading disabled. EA tries but cannot take trades. Manual trades do not execute. So there won't be anything to copy.

Is it for sure US regulations? The notice said MetaQuotes policies. Wasn't it programmed by Russians or Ukrainians? I'm wondering if it's because of you-know-who doing you-know-what.

Coronavirus is a bunch of hooey, that's why it's not affecting the markets. Some people in China caught a cold. Do you suppose a trillion dollars a week might be one reason the markets pushed up late last year? url

OK, I'm going to ask the stupid question that I'm sure has been answered before: WHAT are we actually buying and selling? Futures? Actual gold on margin? Depends on the broker? I'm on an ECN broker, so currency trades actually go to the interbank ...

The definition at the beginning of the thread is certainly interesting - to play a game for money. OK, we're all gambling, but that's not how I define gambling. I go with the definition of betting on something with a random outcome - roulette, dice, ...

Where is this information? Your trade idea is good and would result in a leading indicator with good prediction.

Thanks for that, Drolph. So, my indicator works quite well on the 15M, but I still consider it a scalp, looking for 5-10 pips. Is it safe to say that, if it doesn't work on MT4 backtest, then it isn't going to work any better doing a really good ...
- blueruby replied May 8, 2019
Wouldn't that be called "forward testing"?
- How does one get a good backtest?
Why the blazes can't we get a good backtest? There are instructions on to get a 99% modeling ...
- blueruby replied May 6, 2019
It didn't ignore your stop; price gapped. Your stop says to close if the market goes below your stop price, and it did. It just didn't do it slowly, it gapped down.
- blueruby replied May 6, 2019
Backtest isn't going to give the whole pictures, since it's supposed to run on several pairs, along with a separate EA to close all trades the other EA opens. i don't think there's a way to run more than one EA on backtest... You surely make a good ...

You're right, NFP hardly did anything. In fact, the dollar went down first on the good news, then reversed later. Around noon eastern time is when the dollar really dropped, I figured it had to be the Fed talks. If I wanted to know "Why?" I would ...
