Bang on the money as always.

No problem. Take the SO on the first trade. The bar in question is the wide spread down bar, 5 bars before. See that price hit the low on that bar then, on the following 2 bars, price retraced to approx. 40% of the wide spread bar (look at the upper ...

So then, 1st - we see a high volume wide spread down bar, which results in a retrace of approx. 40% of its spread possible SOS. This shows there is buying in the volume. Then we see a very similar bar, on similar volume, keeping our interest. ...

Ok, I'll give you the entries, and perhaps you can tell us why? I don't have the ability to do a screen shot at the moment so sorry for the 'ropey' commentary! 1st entry is on close of the SO, at 13:15 ish. (Aggressive, not one I would personally ...

Hi Zee, Olambeth is correct. There is no VSA entry there. However, there are 2 other viable entries on your chart. One aggressive, one standard. Can you spot them? Also, can you see from your chart, what would have happened to your BR, if you'd have ...

Hey Pete, hows it goin...... nice to see you're still posting and helping others. Don't forge to tell people about the importance of background. Eg, a narrow spread bar closing in the upper half on low volume (ND), is only worth taking notice of if ...

Hi MtD, I really like your chart and analysis. You show the general PA and volume interaction very well. I hope you will post more for us. Oh and cudos for some good Wyckoff referrals!

Hi Jasus, Please feel free to share your entry and exit rules so we can all learn from you.

It is background + whats happening now. In your little example, you talk about a SC after a weak background then price dropping further. This does not happen unless your evaluation of the SC is wrong. In your example, the SC would probably be a ...
- Intel replied Jan 5, 2013
You're right of course. There is the background to think of, it is a huge part of VSA. A lot of people don't pay it enough attention.

I won't argue with any of your analysis. But here's the rub, THERE IS NO VSA TERM FOR A TEST OF DEMAND. I will personally recognise a test for demand but, Tom doesn't mention one anywhere in his books. ALL of the tests he describes are testing for ...
- Intel replied Jan 3, 2013
Hi Scipio, In VSA there is no term used to define a test for demand. Not entirely sure why, but there you are. A test in the right place, always means the SM are wanting to raise prices. If the test fails, they may not be able to raise prices ...

MFI = Market Facilitation Index = (bar high - bar low)/volume It is not a VSA term. It comes from Bill Williams' ideas for using volume to trade with. 'Trading Chaos' is well worth looking in to. EDIT - it's also where the term 'Squat' comes from.

Great stuff HG. Always helpfull to me, when these types of 'test' come up. Always something to learn. like when pres mentioned about the 3bar supply zone......I didn't catch that! I hope the 'new' VSAers got stuck into this. BTW bar No 9.. I ...
- Intel replied Dec 31, 2012
With your indulgance HG, Like pres says, there is a difference in the dynamics of the bar but, the major difference comes when you can 'read' the intent behind the formation of the bar. A NS appears when SM stop buying up all of the stock and let ...
