Here is the story, a person doesn't care about risks and go all-in $5k + leverage into a pair, got lucky betting in the right direction, and sold it. That's not trading, that's gambling. :/

I think you're on the right track. Trading on a higher timeframe to avoid overtrading is a smart move. Most profitable strategies turn unprofitable because of commissions piling up and slippages.
