Well more accurately, Alpari abided by FCA regulations regarding client funds in segregated accounts. That meant that all client funds except for a relatively small amount in actual trades at the time it crashed were in the collective client ...

Hi - well this thread originally focused on the Alpari UK Ltd insolvency in January 2015, and the subsequent claims process. Just to say that after 2 years and 10 months of persistent pushing, I finally got full repayment of my claimed amount. Not ...

yes you are right. And I am still in that process. That as you know was a result of the crash in the chf (which I wasn't trading and was doing well in). This of course is a completely different broker (chf again) so it was a big surprise and yes bad ...

triphop - thanks for the info. I've opened up an audit investigation (broker's procedure) so I'll see how that goes. I guess one question is how the trade could have been placed i.e. where from (I'm sure there were no pending trades). What's unusual ...
- Legal dispute - unknown trade blew account
Hi FF members, I started this thread because I couldn't see one that matched my question on legal ...

Most traders got all of their money back (notwithstanding exchange rate fees in a number of cases). The FSCS ensured that outcome. A small number of traders cases have yet to be resolved. The affair demonstrated one thing in particular: The FSCS ...

Hi Cashbox and thanks for posting. I'm out of touch on this issue. Which funds would need returned? Where did you get this information? Was there a KPMG release or one from FSCS or somewhere else?

Thanks Cynosure. How did you get in contact with Nathan George. Service Desk?
- m1nich replied Oct 22, 2015
Thanks Tomcat and congrats for getting past the "winning" line on this! Relief I bet.
- m1nich replied Oct 22, 2015
Tomcat, thanks for posting Tomcat. Some clarifications would be greatly appreciated: Was this your first and therefore only payment by FSCS? Had you received any payment from KPMG before this payment? You lived outside the EEC, so did you have to ...

Then you should be ok now - KPMG passes client information updates to FSCS on a weekly basis, and FSCS is now paying out quickly after receipt of that information. Give it another week max and if no payment then call FSCS. Good luck.

Did you originally provide a BIC/Swift number to KPMG (through the claims portal) or did you provide another identifier like ABA routing number?
- m1nich replied Aug 3, 2015
One of the guys on the FSCS enquiry desk told me that they had had a total of approximately 8000 persons to payout. Of these, 4000 or so were paid in the first tranch and 2000 in the second. They are now paying on a weekly basis rather than the big ...

If your account is physically in the US like mine you might want to call FSCS and ask if they have your ABA routing number (and other banking details). Without all of that information, including the ABA, nothing will happen.
- m1nich replied Jul 21, 2015
Tayette, thanks, but I meant accounts physically based in the US - I'm guessing yours is not in the US physically but is in another country and so doesn't require an ABA. If you're in Europe it will be an IBAN. Forexia, thanks also, and I wish it ...

Anyone receive a payment into a US account? FSCS got all my account details for my US account from KPMG - except the all important ABA routing number (which KPMG definitely received from me in the claims portal). So FSCS said until that routing ...

maybe the payout is to be in drachmas instead - that would explain the delay.
- m1nich replied Jul 7, 2015
I know everything that we are told should be taken with a grain of salt, but I'll pass on what FSCS told me today. I called this morning and was told that they were finishing the 'loading' of client data and that payment will be in the next day or ...
- m1nich replied Jun 25, 2015
What's ironic is that from the outset of all this, KPMG advised to choose the FSCS route because that would be the far faster option for payout. Well true for some, but as ssnetwork shows its not the case for the 2nd tranchers.

KPMG won't deal with Mahsud because his legal rights have been transferred to FSCS. However, FSCS will pay the distribution received from KPMG to him. Yes, FSCS has paid out the maximum of GBP 50,000 but they will also pay the dividends received ...
