I got a response from MetaQuotes support that resolved the problem:

Get his message every time I hit the compile button. In addition to the message it fails to compile of course.

I just installed this program. It also says ZoneAlarm firewall reads your screen. My guess is there are valid reasons it might do this to provide functionality but I could be wrong.

This worked for my demo account and for MT tester. But in my live account it is registered as "[complete]". Anyone else have any experience with this.

My broker is FXDD. I didn't have this issue in backtesting. Wondering if anyone else with FXDD has had this problem?

I actually found an easy way to do this. If I close MetaTrader and just open the EA in MetaEditor and recompile it, then open MetaTrader, the parameters are not reset.
