May I recommend watching AU this morning during non-farm payrolls. It's at some serious resistance. Will be a learning experience. Never trade through non-farm, however.

You can have upward and downward consolidation without it necessarily ranging.

All rangings are a type of consolidation, but not all consolidations are ranging if that makes sense. Anytime you get a purple crossing white on any chart, you are moving into consolidation.

Add the weekly to your analysis. Helps tremendously.
