It takes guts to stand up and share lessons learned from the previous financial year and for that I applaud your recent posts.

Surely that trade was contrary to Smikester's point, as it was neither small nor in the direction of the wider trend?

After having read the last 1,000 posts (ok, I might have skipped a few) it looks like no-one has actually supplied a definitive answer to what has happened to Jacko or the funds he has been given. Maybe he was in a car accident and has ended up in ...

You're absolutely right, I wasn't really factoring in the thought that it's really only one trade a week. Provided your backtest data covers several years with a profitable outcome then one bad year is no reason to tamper with the method. I ...

I admire your steadfastness and with a mechanical system such as this (when you have the back-test data to prove its long term profitability) it's the consistency that will eventually see you into profit. I think it's safe to say the market ...

Thanks for the quality reply. It's the above quote that I needed to hear and is the bit that's been holding me back I think. I've heard so many times that we should find a method/system/magic bean that provides 60% winners and a minimum 2:1 return. ...

lol you are confusing me further! If the stop is at the end of the IB then my statement that your additions are more likely to get stopped out still stands. Say you open a position at 2pm GMT at 100, stop at 90. Price rallies during the afternoon.. ...

Not sure I follow. You mean using the pre-existing stop but simply adding on the break of overnight IBs? Guess that could work.

I'm not sure that taking trades between 6pm GMT and 6am GMT is wise - on my charts price is often sideways for most of that period with lots of IBs, followed by OBs, short moves up and down, which would produce a ton of losses - far more losers than ...
