The wording is very clear. If you trade GBPJPY and your account is in USD you will be taxed. If you trade GBPUSD and your account is in AUD you will be taxed. etc etc.

The first point is incorrect. Base currency is the first currency in a pair e.g. GBP in GBP/USD. It has nothing to do with which currency you are spending, or getting rid of.
