You know, they say that in extreme occasions you will not match the expectations, but will match to how you were trained. In this regard, I guess permanent preparation is the key. Trader should always be ready for unexpected cases.

Yep, you definitely right. Using leverage can lower your deposit drastically. I bet some professionals know what to do in such circumstances and they use hedging for example.
