Just to add to this, I think it's a great idea to trade with a small amount of money in a live account after you learn all the basics. It will help keep you in line and often times prevent you from making a trade that doesn't fit the criteria 'just ...

Hey speaking of Oanda, has anyone ever ran both FX Trade and FX Game at the same time? I used to do that a few months ago to compare the feed and it seems to me that FX Game's feed is faster than the one on FX Trade. Anyone notice this? It was like ...

I was able to stay connected with them for about an hour now. Everything seems to be functioning right now.

I've done that a few times and I've learned not to do it again. There is always another entry point around the corner. It's best to take those 7 pips unless the spine angle is pointed way down/up and it's just the beginning of a new trend. Then I ...

Nothing in financial markets is concrete. Oil was hanging really close to $100 anyway so personally I assumed it would start to pull back soon. I thought around the end of November to early December for sure. Analysts that come out and make these ...

The morning was actually pretty nice overall but around NY open it got a lot more choppy so I quit trading for the day. I don't trade choppiness since it compromises my ability to make a profit. Not as nice as yesterday of course, but there were ...

Today's trades. image Should have quit while I was ahead. Made 167 pips today discounting all the loses. Made up for a whole month's worth of loses too. The rainbow was made for this kind of action.

It's still going. I feel like a pig, but in a good way. Will post trades later for sure. I must have made over 200 pips today.

So are all of you too busy catching that 100 pip drop and the retracement to post or what?

No, you're right. Today has been an exceptional day for the E/J so far. I've been trading it all morning. E/U on the other hand hasn't been doing all that great today at all.

It's the slope of the spine crossing the H/V lines. You don't want the spine to be flat. If the spine is sloping upward/downward there is a higher chance the price will follow in the direction of the spine.

Actually it depends on the currency your account is in. For EUR/USD it's $0.65 each way for a mini.

Spreads on Oanda widen before news releases, before the weekend and during the weekend. A typical EUR/USD spread of 10 pips is present over the weekend and doesn't fall to 'acceptable' levels until like the middle of Japan's open. You have to keep a ...

Oanda 10 pip spread on nov 2, 2:30-3pm EST for EUR/USD?
    • justbully7 replied Nov 2, 2007

I use the 5sec and the 30sec chart and sometimes I glance over at the 5min chart too. Trades for today. I got a little trigger happy and exited one short trade between 8:40 and 8:45 for a loss even though it was going to end up in the right ...

Though EUR/USD doesn't have such large ranges as EUR/JPY, it too has ranges where you can make a good profit. That of course comes with screen time. I used to trade EUR/JPY exclusively months before I even found this thread. However, what I've ...

No actually I wanted a feed directly from MBTrading, but you were close. The Gain feed works fine with currency pairs with four decimal places, but the MBTrading (EFX) feed works for only for two decimal places. I'll just stick with what I use ...

That works rather well and on currency pairs with four decimal places too. But it doesn't show what I need. Haha.
