We've all made similar mistakes. I guarantee on your next trade, you will check the time frame of the chart twice before trading on it. Hopefully this lesson wasn't too expensive.

???? — I am a bit confused. Your system is based on price action which is a solid way to trade. I fail to see how adding an indicator will cause the system not to work if a large number of people know about it.

Exit Strategies. — I use pivot points and price action in my exit strategy. I also check multiple time frames when making entrance and exit decisions.
