The German President is a ceremonial position. I've heard it described as a "democratic monarch". Think queen of Queen of England but not for life. He literally is only there as a figurehead. He resigned over taking private incentives. Not the greek ...

url Feb does a good job explaining how he goes about his money management with his HF trading in this thread. Well worth the read. The most important rule is to have a daily limit and stick to it. The "1% per trade" doesn't apply in that sort of ...

Not a clue. That poster is probably working up to selling his amazing system.

Well it's pretty straight forward. I use the daily High Low and Close at midnight EST to calculate the Pivot, R1 and S1. If close is below, I put a sell order in at the Pivot with the SL at R1, the TP at S1. Opposite if close is above. At first I ...

Wow! This place exploded while I was away! Glad to see some life and discussion return. I noticed that EURUSD wasn't ideal for using pivots for my primary S/R. While looking at just Daily data there looked to be an edge, but going down to the hourly ...

Ok, that's what I thought you meant. (That wall of text probably should be an attachment) The key is does the price hit our TP before hitting the SL

I don't understand this post Redlion. You're saying that the close above DPV should actually be a sell bias? With close below DPV the bias would be to buy?

Well I was hoping for some general discussion like "I found xx time to be better for xyzabc pair" or questions people might have. If no one has anything new to add the thread can fade away. Personaly, I don't really care for the EA route, seems like ...

Mercy, I appreciate your excitement for Daily Pivot Points, I really do, but this isn't the thread for what you're posting. Please start your own separate thread and post a link to it here. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you've managed to ...

Issues — So I have been doing more work on the method and have identified two issues that would account for the big difference between tranco's EA backtest (so far the only one in this thread) and my excel model: 1) Pip range volatility 2) The ...

I personally take one trade a day. That is because I can quickly start overtrading. In the example you gave where it hit S1 and came back to the pivot and made a clear reversal pattern then there is nothing inherently wrong with selling again. But ...

Yes you are correct on both statements. I'm not sure what you mean by start hour though. Maybe this will help though: At 2359 on Tuesday (essentially midnight) we get: High 1.3050 Low 1.2950 Close 1.2975 That gives us a pivot of 1.2991 At 0005 on ...

Are these the pivot values you got? R1 1.3066 Pivot 1.3011 S1 1.2973 Close 1.3027 Since you are GMT+1 you would need to get your pivot points at 6am since midnight EST is 0500GMT. The bias for the euro today would have been towards buying.

I just use the daily high, low, close. If the low was lower than the stop loss, it counts as a loss. If the high was higher than the tp, its a win. Just that basic information is all you need. With ~60% win rate and at worst a 1:1 R:R I just don't ...
