You are ignoring depth of market. you can have negative spreads, but you can't buy as much as you want at decent slippage.

Durable goods was today, it is an inflationary indicator.

It is good news for the economy, but definitely not for inflation. More orders would drive up price which makes it an inflationary indicator.
