Don't fear the NFP, guys. Same system but closed manually for 25 pips and a tasty risk/reward. image

Mate, I applaud your work ethic, but at this rate you'll be seeing candlesticks in your sleep..

Don't worry Jibala. I've been following this thread religiously and you've made an amazing contribution - it's certainly helped me. Haters gonna hate - it just means you're on the right track.

Slow news day on the continent today. As for GBP Retail Sales m/m, this was choppy as hell in the seconds leading up to it and afterwards. The charts don't do it justice but all I'm saying is I'll be damned if I trade this particular news item ...

I've also just fallen afoul of "take profit" of -1.5 pips on AUDUSD. Has anyone tried this with a trailing stop instead of take-profit?

Ah USDCAD - the chart can move a mile and you might have only made about 3 pips. Lol Heads up for anyone able/willing to be around at 2:45am UK time - we've got CNY HSBC Flash Manufacturing PMI coming up so that means Aussie dollar (for reasons I'm ...

I sat this one out - I'd seen fake-outs in the past with this news release. The perils of overthinking... But I noticed something interesting - GBPUSD did make a sharp downturn before heading north, whereas GBPJPY made a much cleaner move (see ...

I noticed it took 3 minutes to take profit after the US news as there was a bit of a tug of war between the bulls and bears due to opposing figures from 3 different releases (Building Permits, CPI m/m and Core CPI m/m.) So I'm wondering, should I ...

My broker got me in and out in quite literally 2 seconds, and for 10 pips instead of the targeted five due to the slippage. And they do OCO orders, so I can't complain.

Gaptastic!!

OK, that makes sense. Cheers for that. I'll give this a go on the Aussie news release, assuming I can stay awake for that. They tend to make pretty tidy moves from what I recall.

Hey Jysticim. I've been following Udine's thread, so big respect for your results there. Just for clarification, in your first example with GBPJPY, what was your reasoning for placing the orders at 172.450 and 172.250, instead of say .400 ...

When price is overextended the EMA tends to become a lagging indicator, but what goes up must come down. Pips banked.

I noticed it took around 10 minutes to move 3 pips either way after the London open so I stayed on the sidelines (i.e. bottled it ). Looks like there were pips to be scalped, but it seems that price action inertia during the opening minutes after ...

Nice thread Quidsey. Based on previous comments I've backtested this strategy, incorporating a straddling (OCO) entry method. My parameters are: 1. Enter long 3 pips above close of 07:55-08:00 [UK time] bar OR 2. Enter short 3 pips below close of ...
