Running earlier version of EA, it also did not take obvious trade for tonight. Have no idea what could be the problem. Set for live trading, smiley face present, other EA works with this MT4. Any ideas?

Checked logs, no errors. Not for sure about spread, but doubt it was too high, will go back to older version. Thanks!

I too have tried 0.7a of the EA, it does not place trades. Ideal situation occurred last night, no trade placed.

I have tried this system for several months now, and can say for sure it will not work if one can only trade the NY session, and can only trade the higher timeframes H4, D1. Even with H1 during the NY timeframe following the crosses will get one ...

One can easily check and see that it does not work this way. Of the past ten signals 8 would have been closed for a loss (not a profit) one would have been a small gain or BE, and the latest signal would be a substantial gain if closed now, can't ...

Math has stated that (MathTrader 7 Renko EA 3.10) will no work with Renko charts produced with (Renko mod). You must use the non-gap Renko chart builder. At least part of your problem.

Sure suck at it, don't you.....

Dave, GOOD! If you cannot find a winning combination with the options available, you are not going to find one at all. One cannot keep "tweaking" these indicators to get a winning strategy. All you are doing in back testing these "tweaked" ...

nobby911, what strategy were you using? Some strategies will give such different results. Also, be sure you have the "Time frame" setting in the EA (toward the end) set correctly. I have used both methods to test and get very similar results for ...

Some are making this way too complicated. If you do not have a good strategy, no money management is going to make up for it. Dave is correct, tests over several years are useless! Test for 4 months max. Once you get a good result for the previous 4 ...

Please Dave, keep it simple! There are more than enough variables to find a workable strategy, if there is one. The problem with using the back tests to find a winning strategy is that it is designed to "curve fit". You are correct in saying that it ...

alex8585 In regards to your .set file "Stoch + Emacrossprice.txt". With "Price/EMA" set to 1 (on) and "STOCCross" set to one the two conditions are simply not met at the same time, so no trades. With just "Price/EMA" set and the EMA set to 200EMA, ...

Like B-Naire2B, I do not see the same results, almost all are at best break even, and at worst Margin calls. We must be doing something wrong, but what? I am not new at running the ST, and know that if not set properly can give some strange results. ...

Sorry, I didn't mean that I hit "Reset" after loading the .set file. Still have a problem in getting your results. I set up the ST for AUDUSD, M1. I next "Reset" the parameters, next loaded the .set file TG_AUD_1_2014_ContStraddle_BreadEve ...

Ran the latest version of the EA using the .set file for Continuous Straddle (TG_AUD_1_2014_ContStraddle_BreakEve nFilter.set). Results were not good, nearly a Margin Call, with a loss for the year of $1063, trading 0.1 Lots. Does anyone else get ...

dman7800------The "Continuous Straddle" strategy is probably one of the simplest. When the EA is applied to a chart it places a Buy Stop, and a Sell Stop at a distance from the current price as specified by the "Straddle Buffer". When the price ...

One has to be very careful when testing the EA using the MT4 Strategy Tester. When using the optimizing process, it is extremely good at "curve fitting"; that is producing a setting for the parameters that will produce great profit for a specified ...

Apparently my mistake was that I was not running the ST on the M1 timeframe. So, now the EA performs like it should, I can follow the trades and they all make sense. Now my only problem is running the ST on the M1 timeframe, I get a modeling quality ...

Thanks Dave for your response. I always suspect that I am doing something wrong, just don't know what. Will try again following your instructions. If it works for you, it should work for me......keep up the good work!
