If you look into who owns the Japanese debt you'd find that they own their own debt (yeah it sounds weird). BOJ owns half of the Gov's Bonds as of end of 2022.

It's not likely any US news leak since EUR is diving. Over 400 pips EUR/JPY and I have been looking at this all London morning without anything pointing to US fundamentals.

It's called fundamentals. Charts are nice but they don't move markets like some impending disaster in the banking system. I'm from Asia timezone and have been following this all afternoon (London morning) on this move.

It was a mixed news as more jobs were created but at the same time unemployment went up. One positive and one negative. Hence the initial EURUSD spike was not huge as traders will now decide whether it will continue going up or whipsaw back down.
