Create a static variable that contains the opening time of the bar you closed your last trade in. If iTime(NULL,0,0) is equal to that value, don't allow another trade. 2 or 3 lines of code and it works perfect.

I wasn't disagreeing on that point. I have no idea how MT4 calculates the modelling quality and it does seem that 25% is as good as it gets on the M1 data. Keep in mind though, if you are trading on tick data in any time compression it is probably ...

Or if anyone has a technique, I'll code it up and post it.

I disagree. If your strategy uses M1 data and trades within an interval, the back test results will be the least reliable. The bigger the time compression you use, the less dependent it is on the "simulated" tick data being accurate. This is why you ...

Placing two limit orders or opening a short and long position right before a news release seems dangerous to me. Maybe there is something I still don't understand, but I would expect fluctuation to really screw you up. I like to either place a ...

I've always felt like moving your stop or limit around like that makes little difference. In your case, you go from more chances to hit the TP with lower profit, to lower chances to hit the TP with higher profits. In the end, it would probably be a ...

Also, keep in mind, connectivity has little to do with the Metatrader software and more to do with the broker of choice. I have found MT4 to be very stable.

MIG demo has been down a lot lately. However, their live servers have been rock solid even during high volatility.

Anyone know how the divergence function works? I can see programmatically what it is doing, but how does this indicate a divergence? I don't understand why it needs 4 different MAs. If this question has already been answered, just point me in the ...
