Don't get me wrong. But where do you want to go with this? Anyway, I kind of agree with you. In general 99% of what I read in these forums is b*llshit. Expert advisors, fibs, scalping, indicators, technical analyse, news trading, fundamental trading ...

I backtested last night the mGrid -Auto Increment-STD-Test.mq4 again. I don't have a chart of that test, but believe me it was horrible. I find the old EA mGrid-EA working a lot better. Anyone has the same results from long term backtesting? Maarten ...

tdion what are you still doing here? I thought you were on your way to being a millionaire? I saw several posts from you where you created profitable EA's. What happend?

Agreed Cheers, Maarten (I still think this EA has massive drawdown, not that it really matters if you trade with penny lots... soooo..... thank you nanningbob!)

Woohooooo! My god. Sorry brother I didn't know that I offended you. I read something incorrectly, forgive me! I am a human, just like you. My gosh, take it easy. So you were trading 0.001 lots? My god, sorry. My mistake, my bad, sorry, sorry sorry. ...

Have you backtested this EA yourself? And yes you can say that backtesting is not accurate and that is true, but it gives you an idea what to expect. And the problem is that this EA blows itself up in the end. Ow, and by the way, look up the ...

With 0.01 lots you need more then a 1000 dollar in your account. There are times when you need more then 5 times the lots (0.01 = 1000 dollars so 5000 dollars), if you don't have a 5000 in your acount with mini lots, it blows up (for example around ...

Did anyone notice that this EA has massive drawdown? All the tests I did end up with a 35%, 60, or even a 85% drawdown. Anyway, I am still impressed with your work nanningbob. Anyone testing it live? Maybe testing it with a 100 dollar account and ...

So..... trading forex in the long run profitable year after year, is impossible?
- Maarten999 replied Oct 12, 2008
That is true. Thanks for that, I didn't think about that. Anyway thanks for all your work. A little gift.... this is your sell EA. image and the buy EA image Leomeister, here you go... both the sell and buy.
- Maarten999 replied Oct 12, 2008
The problem is that the buy EA is never profitable. Not even in the long term. Maarten

But on a more serious note. If this guy was really on to something, why would he share it? Anyway, I am calling b*llshit. 95% of his trades were profitable. Just impossible! ...... or maybe not? Maarten

Long term backtesting image
- Maarten999 replied Oct 12, 2008
Guys, is there any way that we can backtest both the buy and sell EA? Because if you backtest in the long term the buy EA has trouble around 8-8-2008 when the euro started to fall, I wonder if the sell EA then would compansate the losses that the ...

I am still unable to test it, because I get a very different outcome in backtesting then you get. And when I use the EA for one month, I only get something like 300 trades. What am I doing differently? If I use all the default settings, or default ...

FOREXflash what for settings are using? Because I get a very different result with your latest EA. I love to backtest it all the way from 2004 to now, to see if this EA still blows up. Maarten

And still, no one has come with some good arguments that trading year after year is going to be profitable. There are a lot of good strategies out there, but if you turn them in a EA and test them then, you will see that in the end they always blow ...
