Another way to look at it: GU at top of its downtrend channel. If trend is changing it is no longer countertrend, but in any case, it could make another trip to channel bottom before resuming uptrend ... time will tell ....

For those following the box method, check out the 5 min chart, a near perfect example of consolidation & breakout.

Today was not the best example, but here is a 5 min chart .. the 'boxes' are nothing more than identifying areas of consolidation so it is easier to see when price breaks out one way or the other. Spikes out of the box don't count, the candle should ...

Ok, here is close up of my last (bottom) tl .. I used the 2 candles with the checkmark as the touch point ... and it shows 4h is now under & testing from below.....this is not right?

Using your prior 4h charts as a model, I made a parallel tl of last 4h lows and according to that, she broke under yesterday and is now testing it from below. However in your 1h chart you have drawn a tl to reflect the latest 1h low .. so it looks ...

The Boxes know.... — While everyone was trying to find a place to go long again, 5 min boxes were telling the 'real' story ... she might not be finished with the down elevator just yet.

PS . I do use the 1 min tf if a trend is moving well. When price moves far from 50 I cash out one or two positions and add back when it re-touches the 50. If it closes above the 200, I am out. On chart below, blue is 50, red is 200, dotted line is ...

River Boxes — Another good day trading with the boxes .. I've rode it up & back down again, total about +75. Once trend is there (river is flowing) I often go to 1 minute & add at pullbacks to the 50 ema. (lower chart) Not interested in where ...
