Back some 10+ years ago, I forget in which forum...Oanda or TSD or whatever, a member started posting only his closed trades and showing off and amazing everyone with the wins. After many requests by forum members, he finally obliged and posted everything. Not only everyone was disappointed, but also, he was severely chastised for hiding quite a few key facts that became apparent after the full disclosure. From that time on, everybody understood that if you want to show off or get credit for your uber success, you have to lay it all out on the table. To us back then, hiding the bad stuff and flaunting the good stuff became something unethical that you just don't do.

Years have gone by and many of the old traders and forum contributors have disappeared and that sort of stuff about transparency has faded too. Seems like Aussi has brought the way old days back to the present by only showing off what looks good. I can do it too. Everyone should do it then. We were I guess wrong to give that guy sh*t for cheating. Cheating is the new thing and gets you clueless minions and that is more important that honesty.

Selectively showing off is just plain unpleasant. Period.

Well, there you go... with a winrate of 46.3%, you have managed to make 100%+ in 8 days. How the heck did you do that? I see you had a single big win of $48 and your average wins were $14. Not bad for a $50 account. Actually very impressive.

I held my positions for USDJPY from Friday and just closed today. I also was swinging a few other pairs as well. I am more of a swing trader than anything as I trade off of the higher time frame but I Intra day trade every now and then.

For the how, the Max DD should give some clue: -87%...
Not at all different than betting on ' red' in the casino, and with a lucky spin doubling your money.
While risk losing all.
Btw, the probability of winning on 'red' also holds near that win rate of the cited 46%.
The difference that roulette plays out faster, a lot, won't take 8 days.

The question: is it really that impressive?

hehehe... look who I have caught in my web of a thread. PF himself

I don't want to discourage anyone who steps forward to help. If someone is willing to risk a $100 of their own funds, it's all good by me. But if I have to throw in my little seed funds, then yes, I need a more consistent performance. If tradeandchil had done a few rounds of this and pulled it off every time even if he had at some point the aforementioned DD, it would be tempting to let him have a rub at it but one performance as such, yes impressive for 100%+ but can it be repeated?

I know another trader with great performance and consistently impressive results who certainly belongs to the wizard country...Oh, it's you PF.

You need no miserly $85 seed fund of mine to do your magic but it will be yours to trade it without hesitation although I am sure you are used to trading much bigger amounts, so it will be a double challenge for you.

LoL, your web, loving it!

Frankly, I applaud your decision to try to help out your trading buddy, understand the motivation, and all.

But are you willing to accept the fact that your chosen charity may not be the same as other traders ( me included that group)?

Best of luck on the charity part.
And yes, I don't need your 85$. Just like you wouldn't be impressed with 5% return what I consider good.
At 4.5$ a month, it wouldn't do any good to your friend.
Thus I can't help you. Or him.
My charity spending has its place to causes and ppl I know.
Same as you do.
Just take it easy on us traders who not share your visions always.

I totally understand that you donate to other charities and you are used to keeping your funds safe at the expense of getting lower returns in relation to investment size.

Just wanted to mention that CG is just another forum member and I have never had any interactions with him other than I think he shouted out a thank you after my first donation. So it's not a personalized thing where I am looking out for my buddy. He is everybody's buddy. As far as I know, he has always been polite and contributed by tinkering with trading related issues. I came across his posts when I was looking for an indicator or something and he had come up with a fix for it or had an idea and meanwhile, he mentioned his health issue. To me he was just another FX addict and his devotion to help solve a trading related issue for everyone while going through the health issues, really struck a cord with me.

I am certain, the kind of guy he is, he would put other peoples problems ahead of his own.

Another thing is that, if you look at gofundme and similar sites, a lot of people ate raising huge amounts of funds for really trivial things. They are social media wiz kids and know where to go and how to pitch themselves. I on the other hand belong to no social group other than this. You'd think a community of oh so successful traders always boasting their success and showing off daily statements of money made like you won't believe, would be a nice place to ask for help. I don't think I am getting my message across enough.

The minute I mentioned this to my son, freshly out of high school with a brand new job, he put $50 on the table. No questions asked. FXsniper donated his time, money and effort. I donated, traded and donated more. Honestly, I thought at my first effort, I would be asked to step aside and let some real trader take over and show us how it is really done. Nope, no such a luck.

2nd push now and I have a very nice forum participant trading $100 of his own funds and I have another who did well last week and is willing to do it again

Still, that is all. Not enough. The empty showing off and chest pounding goes on in other threads while CG has had to travel 6 hours a day in 35 degree heat to get his oxygen treatment. Have you read his gofundme page? He has to not eat for 40 hours at a time. Imagine not eating for that long and endure the back and forth trip for that oxygen treatment.

He is not asking for much, $2500 or so reaches his goal. It was in the news a while ago that 2 guys and a woman pulled a scam n raised I forget..something like 400k. The story was that she broke down on the highway and a homeless man offered his last $20 for her cab ride or something like that. Yup, that story motivated people to pay 400k but a cancer patient fasting for 40 hours and travelling 6 hours a day in 35 degree heat several time a week...ditto.

Yes, it would have had it easier if I too covered my eyes, plugged my ears and stayed quiet about this....so much easier but I was born with a conscious I think, so I can't help it.

hayseed Sep 11, 2019 7:25pm | Post# 50

So that means, the most successful traders are unable to do anything with $85?
//------

hey ot..... yes and no..... even the best forex trader would starve on a 85$ account....... most successful traders would probably have taken that 85 and bought a second hand push lawn mower...... after a few months mowing yards they'd take the, by then, 5k and open an oanda account.....

more to your point...... just now noticed your thread here..... sorry to hear about his troubles...... can remember cable guy well..... and natalia.....

he and i exchanged a few posts about her and her abilities..... they are the sole reason i decided to take topsteps combine challenge..... my reasoning is, if i can do it, so could she.....

happen to have a few accounts sitting around in lay-a-way that can be put into action for him..... should be able to add a 100 to his cause.....

take care..... and cable guy, wherever you are, wish you the best of luck.......h

OutThere Sep 11, 2019 8:01pm | Post# 51

Yes, it's a small amount but I have donated and traded several times as much for him and am nearing fatigue including pulling my hair out in this thread. I need new blood to help out and thanks so much for joining the effort. It means a lot to me.

I hardly knew Cable guy but I lost a dear friend to the exact same cause and I don't think I ever recovered from that loss. I have known you a long time and know you have a kind heart, so god bless you.

Yes I read some of your exchanges on that thread with CG from the better times. One day you have a nice chat and shortly after things change so quickly..priorities shift and important things become trivial and vise versa....just like that!

Thanks Again and hope you do well on your trading for yourself and for CG.

I emailed Cableguy yesterday and I haven't received a reply.

Is there anyone savvy enough to search for the rest of his fundraising team members and email them to ask for CG's status?

I don't even have FB and most ppl find each other tru FB...I am told. Can someone please help?

I know FF has plenty of searcher/investigators because as soon as someone puts up a free system or shows really good trades, they get investigated for being a possible seller and their trading genealogy gets put on scammers hall of shame or something like that. Doing that doesn't get anyone their wings and I doubt it opens the pearly gates of heaven for them...but they are eager to do it for whatever reason. They love Twee perhaps? I donno. This one does. It gets you a really slick shiny and strong set of wings and guess what? You can fly right over the heaven's gate when your time comes. I personally guarantee it. If it doesn't work, you can sue me.

So, please? Someone?

See Cableguy blowing out birthday cake candles on the right and with his buddies out having fun on the left? He is all smiles. He needs you to find out his status by researching the names of the contacts on his gofundme page. JUST DO IT!

I just wanted to give an update about Ted Prosser. He was a great bloke and a good friend of mine in our crazy days in Eastern Europe. Sadly he passed at the end of July, for all his efforts to beat it, sadly it didnít work out. He loced life, was religious about his trading, loved the ladies and the good things in life. Thanks to anyone here that tried to help him, he deserved any help anyone gave. We will all miss him.
