GPro HRT Formula

GPro HRT Score (Equity) = Abs [(Return This Month % / Maximum Return Drawdown %) * (Av Winning Trade % / Av Losing Trade %) * (Win Rate % / Worst Trade Return %)*(TAF)].

Updated: August 4, 2019

Where TAF is the Trade Age Factor
TAF (<= 1 month trade history) = Account Age Days / Calendar Days
TAF (> 1 month trade history; 1.00 <= TAF <= 10.00) = Av Trades per Week = Closed Trades / Account Age Weeks

Note 1: Equity Tab on TE must be applied;
Note 2: TE or myfxbook must be set to public;
Note 3: HRT Formula may be modified based on trader feedback;
Note 4: If Max Return DD = 0 on TE a value of 0.1 is assigned;
Note 5: If Av Losing Trade = 0 on TE a value of 0.1 is assigned;
Note 6: If Worst Trade Return = 0 on TE a value of 0.1 is assigned; and
Note 7: Myfxbook link when provided may be used instead of the TE data.

GPro HRT Traders wishing to participate in the GPro HRT Leaderboard must satisfy the following conditions:

1. A Real Trading Account linked to TE (set to public and toggled to Equity) or myfxbook link and current trading activity showing a Return this Month > 0;
2. Post their desire to be included and if they wish to have their TE linked to my thread if Ranked highest apart from Thread Op (weekly event);
3. Thread Op will determine rankings of interested traders after applying GPro HRT Formula that determines scores (Highest Score means Rank 1 and so on down);
4. Trading analytics is sourced from the traders' TE or myfxbook or other reputable and available source;
5. Ranking Formula used may be modified based on GPro members feedback;
6. Traders are required to have their TE's as part of their FF Forum signature and set to Return this Month;
7. Custom Start Date if used must Not fall after the 1st day of the current month (Custom Start can range from Account Start date to 1st Day of Current Month);
8. Only the Top 10 HRT approved Traders will be included on the GPro HRT Leaderboards (updated Monthly as of August 2019);
9. Multiple TE's are permissable however, Thread Op may choose the one that results in the lowest score;
10. A minimum amount of trading data may soon become necessary in order to receive a GPro HRT Rank such as account history starting prior to current months start date;
11. TE trading history must display the vast majority of the month for which leaderboard trader rankings are sought; this is to limit traders using a few great days of data; and
12. Any discrepancies regarding Leaderboard rankings or any other matter whatsover will be dealt with by the Thread Op, the decisions made will be final.

The Thread Op reserves the right to modify any of these conditions at any time including the disallowance of any trader seen NOT fit for inclusion.

Updated on July 31, 2019

Updates will occur at the end of every Month until otherwise advised.

Traders (Top 10 only) wishing to be included need to meet the conditions outlined above.

GPro HRT Score is calculated by applying the GPro HRT Formula, the higher the value the better the rank.

The 'Max Gain' leaderboard applies only 1 parameter which is Return This Month (TE) or similar from myfxbook.

Transparent Trading (TE provided)

I'm keeping it real here guys and gals by providing links to various trade analytical collection sites for the account(s) I'll be trading.

Deposits

If Equity declines into non-favorable lower levels it is possible that additional funds may be deposited into the account.

Funds may also be deposited into the account at any time for no particular reason except to trade larger volumes.

Withdrawals

As Equity grows it is possible that withdrawals from the account may be made up to the total amount of deposits.

Funds may also be withdrawn from the account if external risk factors suggest that a withdrawal is necessary in order to preserve capital.

Trade Plan

Yes Trade Plans are a must even if the trading here is to be considered as high risk !
High Risk should not necessarily be coupled with carelessness, it is not.

1. Episodes of scalping type trades cutting losses fast and letting winners run that generate effective gains adding to 'buffer profit' level;
2. Lot size in the range 1 Lot per 10K Equity per entry (refer to Excel sheet below for specifics);
3. Apply Multiple Mastered Strategies such as Harmonics, Fibonacci, Chart Structure, Psychological Price Levels, Gann and more;
4. Add constant volume in various configurations to a pending order setups (if current lot size is 1 lot, all other orders must be 1 Lot);
5. Early stages of account building use up to ~80% of the available 'buffer profit' for favorable mid to longer term setups;
6. Risk Control Techniques (limit max loss to single digit per entry, lock in at BE+pips at opportune times to gain effective RR);
7. Trade Management Techniques (reduce losses, look to garner higher %Gains per trade on average over the mid to long term horizon;
8. As Equity falls within lower bands trade at the prescribed volume (refer Excel below);
9. Goals can be seen via myfxbook link and the Goals Tab in terms of ongoing profit.

Target on average a 22% Monthly Compounded Gain in Equity pushing 10K risk capital to 100K (profit) over 12 month period or thereabouts.

Equity Start July 1 2019 = US$10 000

Target Profit June 30 2020 = US$100 000

If progress over the 3 months July, August and September shows that 22% is very unlikely to be maintained or achieved then a revision will occur.

The revision may suggest that a lower target compound rate is necessary and hence a much longer time horizon needed to meet initial profit goal.

Traders should set Milestones and Goals so they have some idea of where they would like to be over a certain trading horizon.

Excel is just one of many tools that is useful for making projections of gains into the future based on assumed trading performance.

The following Excel screenshot shown is a simple example of where I might like my GPro_10K account to be say over a 1 year period.

Click to Enlarge

Name: Screenshot3.png
Size: 66 KB

Notice the 2 sets of data, one set shows the compound rate (MoM) to reach a certain target % (or profit$) whilst on the right hand side the current compound rate can be entered which shows how far behind I might be based on the target compound rate I have set as a target.

As trading continues, these target compound values can be adjusted slightly if necessary so they are more in line with actual trading performance.

The idea however, is to keep the target compound rate just out of your reach so you strive that little bit harder to capture most of it.

In situations where the target compound rate is exceeded consider increasing it a little such as 5% extra.

The idea is to be challenged, afterall this is HRT Trading.

Traders should be aware that not everyone can function properly under the added stress that goals and targets can have on ones psych so you will need to determine what is right for you !

Risk Capital Only Allowed
Other traders with disposable risk capital are welcome to join in and trade if they so wish understanding that losses are their own responsibility.

Indicator and Template Examples

A few examples of some trading templates that I use for such trading will be provided so that traders can add to them if they wish.

Chart Example:

Size: 27 KB
Fibonacci Ratios I commonly apply:
Click to Enlarge

Name: Screenshot2.png
Size: 15 KB
MT4 Zip folder:
GPro_MT4.zip
Only very basic indicators and templates will be provided here.

It is the traders choice to add additional indicators as they wish.

My preference is always to use 'informative' indicators as opposed to 'lagging' type indicators but it is the traders choice.

I strongly recommend that traders use a reliable MT4 News indicator and other reliable news sites to keep in tune with news releases.

Equity Building Journey (the fast way)
This thread is directed towards building accelerated Equity Curves with relatively large P&L's.
A few jokes and laughs along the way are welcome but the key goal is to make bank and make it fast !

Lot size Progression

As Equity increases one way to contain the number of winning pips required is to adjust the trading volume.
Click to Enlarge

Name: Screenshot4.png
Size: 26 KB
By increasing lot size based on equity levels its possible to keep pips requirement constant.

Notice the pips/day required is constant at about 11 pips whilst lot size ranges from 1 Lot initially up to 9 Lots and the leverage applied is near constant based on the values in the table.

If losses occur then as current Equity moves into lower Equity bands then a lower volume will be traded until such time as Equity again improves.

Note: This assumes a pip value per 1 Lot volume of $10 which covers the major currency pairs but be mindful that other currency pairs will have lower or higher pip values and the metals and indices will also differ.

Trader Support
Traders should support one another and not intentionally belittle others.

Traders who visit this thread come from a variety of different trading backgrounds and have different trading performance.
We all need to be very mindful of this and understand that providing insightful commentary to these traders is very important.

Trader Conduct
I expect all traders to adhere to common courtesy whilst posting to this thread and abide by the FF guidelines.

Post 1 Updates
I will update Post 1 monthly (or as required) provided that traders interest and participation continues.

May your Equity Curves point to the Moon with Drawdown consistently in the single digits !

G Pro

There are an infinite number of ways to trade at high risk.

The name of the game is to generate as much equity as the market allows without risking too much coin in the process at the fastest possible rate.

This suggests that reversals in PA against your entries necessitates quick closures so that losses are somewhat contained.

What a trader is wishing to do here is get into an entry at the start of a nice momentum move and ride it as far as possible as well as carefully tightening the SL to BE+pips lets say after a 10 pip favorable move.

Getting into a trade that ends up running in your favor can take several attempts so a trader needs to be careful regarding risk per entry taken or he/she risks putting a nasty dint in the account equity.

The tightening of the SL as far as trade management is concerned is a skill all to itself and overall trading performance can vary widely based on the skill set of the trader.

Key Trading Skills

1. Technical Analyst (with very strong PA reading ability);
2. Awareness to News events (likely times of increased volatility);
3. Focus (on the task at hand and be in control of emotional and psychological pressures);
4. Risk Control (ability to cut losses very quickly based on lot size ratio);
5. Adding to Positions under favorable conditions (adding greater trading volume at opportune times);
6. Consistency (ability to repeat good trading practises again and again and again); and
7. Self Analysis and Re-Adjustment based on trading performance.

An example 'High Risk' template which has generated very good results in testing.

Items to be aware of are as follows:

a) session times;
b) PA leading up to the session of interest;
c) trigger mechanism allowing for trade engagement;
d) simple Fib tool using 0.25 increments (trigger level, Entry and TP ... SL (not shown) generally on opposite side ~1to1 RR);
e) Daily Open line in white color; and
f) AnyCandle indicator showing D1 ranges (green color far rightside).

Note 1: Other informative indicators can be added such as ADR ranges and FFCal indicator (news proximity).

Note 2: White vertical dashed lines are where the start of the PA prior to session open time is considered, this line can vary based on discretion.

Masterrmind............

Masterrmind Jun 9, 2019 7:26am | Post# 7

It should be clear from the post above that I'm interested in trading typically just after the start of a new session be it Tokyo, London or New York.

Reason is simple enough, these time periods frequently offer the required momentum to grab multiple pips at a time.

Please note that it is not my intention to provide these templates but rather to quickly mention them so that traders can design their own if they so wish.

This is just 1 simple example of a template and I use several variations at times depending on a host of other factors related to the markets being traded.

Masterrmind.........

Masterrmind Jun 9, 2019 7:37am | Post# 8

Broker Commission

Another aspect of high lot fast in fast out trading is the unfavorable accumulation of broker commission.

Traders should monitor this situation and assess it at the end of each week at the latest.

Paying commission is all part of the business of trading but it doesn't mean traders should just go with the flow, rather they should consider whether or not it is possible to stay in trades longer for higher profit levels.

This process is not as simple as it might appear because on an intraday scale (if this is what we are trading) it is often very difficult to know how far price will go before erasing some or all of the floating profit.

I will attempt to show this in real time however, PA can move rather quickly at times so it may not always be possible to show a well timed example.

Riding a profitable trade longer means lower trading costs over the longer term !

Longer term average pair allocation should favor trading a pair relevant to the given session.

Tokyo

1. AUDJPY
2. NZDJPY
etc

London

1. EURUSD
2. GBPUSD
etc

New York

1. USDJPY
2. USDCAD
etc

Experience will allow you the ability to trade non-related pairs in sessions at a later stage.

Masterrmind...........

Masterrmind Jun 9, 2019 8:23am | Post# 11

First series of trades are possible around London or New York sessions (from Monday or Tuesday this week) based on PA and other conditions.

As a general guide to volumes being traded I may trade from 1 lot up to Equity/1000.

This means on a 5K start I may trade volumes from 1 lot up to 5 lots.

However, if opportunities present it is possible to add significant volumes based on a sizable momentum move.

Simply put, it means I will look to lock in Entry 1 at BE then add volume to Entry 2 etc.

ps. All trades will be publicly available via the TE showing the good, the bad and perhaps the ugly !

Good trading,

78.6 Fib to 88.6 Fib Zone is a favorite reversal area for my setups and since PA most of the day has been down it might offer an opportunity to get into the short side.

It might, not saying it will ... lets be patient because I want to see the bears coming back with aggression and NOT the bulls ripping price up too much higher else the DO Line could be the target.

Ideally I want to see price hold at or under the 88.6 Fib area followed by some bearish PA.
