Gold is going crazy but I think that buying dips into 1500 could be safe for now

The higher gold goes the more interest it is to sellers (either for taking profit or entering short). I am expecting a great deal of volatility over the next few weeks not just from a technical standpoint but also from a geo-political standpoint as well. Unstable trade agreements between major world economies, as well as some major European economies that are on the brink of recession - UK comes to mind. All these things will cause "nervous twitches" in the Gold market (I fear). If you are a trend follower, be prepared for days/weeks that look "scary". If you are a short term trader you are going to look like a trading genius as price rises and falls quickly.

Of more interest to me is which way gold will move AFTER all this mess settles...it make take another US election to resolve this volatility.

Gold still has some serious potential... specially if it is believe that countries might be speeding up the reserves... not to mention possible gold standard... we are not that far from reality... some countries could back some great portion of their money supply (at least the lower ones... M0, M1)...even now... They might be scared of price going too far so they might increase the buying

We have to see the PIECHART of BUYERS structure... anyone has the most reliable one? Structure of buyers/sellers so that we can estimate what drives this and where should we expect it to go?

If it helps!

Only one way to trade gold right now... UP

I got back in at 1,500.

Not sure if we're riding the RD Express just yet, but Gold is looking damn resilient right now. Seems nothing can get it down. Feeling confident on the long side of this market.

If we break 1,530, I think it's alllll abooooard.

Yeah man the bond market is looking like a big dark cloud right now. No wonder Trump is spazzing on Powell!

I actually yelled that out loud last night...
Oh wow the market really got you when that happens.

Trades are looking solid though!

possible but there needs to be an escalation in the trade war

1500/1600 could be the range for now with dips being bought by the large speculators

Feels a little like that Whack-a-mole game. Trump is trying to juice results to help re-election, but the negatives always pop up somewhere when you take short-cuts to get your results. Gold definitely seems like a little safer bet right now, but the see-saw movements are making it interesting.

Huh man, looks good for gold atm, but I wouldn't make any conclusion from today alone... because rather good drop for eurusd today... and not a full market opened atm... bank and national holidays somewhere I would love for things to go that direction, but not that fast, because there might be retracements, interventions, that I do not like at all.. hence I prefer slower trends

anilamil Aug 15, 2019 3:50pm | Post# 559

i can see gold will touch 1543 in this week, and will make a resistance around 155x next week ( perhaps hammer next week ). from weekly chart.

Gold is trying to find a direction right now. The trend has been slightly higher since the CME daily open. After the SHFE I'm starting to question if it'll continue higher. Asia looks like they're selling gold and with lack of any economic data, sentiment is what we're looking at here. I still favor long because there's so much support with all the uncertainty and political turmoil. If I get stopped, I'm looking for a re-entry (long) at a better price.Name: SNAG-4.png
