My worst habit... I get excited by a winning trade and close early.. So I can hold a -10k trade happily but when a trade is 500 in profit I cannot close it quick enough. I have an 82% win rate but that figure means diddly squat when your average loss far exceeds your average winning trade. The worst thing is it normally hits my TP but I have already closed it manually. Any suggested strategies to fix this?
I too suffer from this. My strategy is to look at it from the opposite direction. If you are short and can make a good argument for a long, it might be time to close it. It's also common to let a winner dry up because you're trying to let it run.
If you can't make a reasonable counter trade case, stay in.

Losses are one of the inevitable frustrating moments you will face on forex. But to make them not so suprising and painful I always write them down in my monthly trading plan. Also, I advise to start a trader's diary. It always helps to analyze your trading and see the mistakes you make.

Aren't you done with all the wannabe traders posting winners and winners ? Feel free to post only losing traders. Posting losing trades will help you understading why it went wrong and how to "prevent" it next time If you want to post winners, stick to the eurusd thread where all the elite traders are making billions everyday
Very interesting thread. But for the last 9 months, there is no single input in this thread!!!
Maybe everybody doesn't want to expose their losing trade.
