{quote} It does not repaint after its made its decision which is when the next bar starts. Hence you have to wait until candle close. Show some proof at least.
He might be looking at the last 6 bars in H4 (one day) which settle after every day and then the smoothing on top, not repainting really.
As an alternative, I have been looking at 25-50-90-5 (current tf), similar to the D1 setting but without the "repaint" effect.

I'm currently using the indicator for 'ob' and 'os' levels. Its the best way to trade it I've found, compared to the other strategies i've shared.

I'm getting over 80% winning trades with the original indicator and the original settings.
I think this thread is a classic example of "improving" a system out of existence. Tweaking it into oblivion.

Good for you on your win rate, but cheap words from someone who's been on FF since 2006. I'd bet you've been through a good few systems and ' tweaked them into oblivion'.

1. Oblivion is personal and subjective hence I say use whatever strategy works for you. I've posted multiple ways to trade this indicator which hopefully suits traders and their circumstances. Some people have jobs and don't want to sit in front of a screen all day, where as some can sit all day and scalp.

2. I changed the first post to say this is not a systems thread. Its focus is on the STC and the many ways to trade it.

Another good trade here. STC was overbought and price broke trend line! I use an EA for money management. It deploys a SL, TP, TS and breakeven. {image} {file}
Hello rvanscho,

Do you use the default parameters (EA) for the MM ?
What is your experience ?
(I see that you also use the Fibonacci extension for TPs)

P.S.
H4 timeframe

EURAUD.

3 things I want to highlight with this trade

1 - There is a pattern/market behaviour called the Big Shadow, Its based of naked trading. Google it.

2 - divergences with the STC

3 - trend line is being broken

Please be careful, this indicator repaints. Also, these kind of indicators work only in particular market scenarios, they are quite good in clear downtrend. But if you have a choppy sideways movement, you will get burnt with this kind of indicator.
