Does anyone have a good link to breaking News? S&P suddenly plunged straight down 100 pips. ( I don't mind I 'm six contracts short) Gold shot up $10 and I see nothing in the news anywhere.

FYI, there's a cool little utility made by mladen that gives you a bit more screen real estate.

It rids you of the borders via toggle button.

Thanks, there were quite a few late week markups that were ripe for picking this week.

Lowe speaks Tuesday for AUD

Looking at the pivot. Alot to do with USD on Thursday morning.

Then let PA tell the rest of the story.

Cheers

Holy Moly, can anyone tell me when this will reverse???? {image}
I don't know, GDP came out good for NZD, next week OCR should be confirmed at 1%, it will be important to listen at RBNZ statement.
I think recent issues on trade talks between US-CHINA weighs, I 'm long on it and need a bounce back to 0.63 to break-even.

Swede and Bubincka , I am in this trade with you as well. I was quite surprised as the NZD strengthened on Friday as well.
Being said , my collection of data and the fact that the US 10 Year Treasury rebounded slightly on Friday , bodes well for a very productive week with regard to this pair.
Typically , I only trade the USD/CAD.
I am actually looking forward to this week.
Regards ,
GreenEarth

I just posted the chart but not in it until I see a reversal candle or price action around this level that would indicate a base....there may still be a ton of downside....cheers

Posting from another room...this could have quite a bearing on the open days of next week...a huge increase of long positions in USDX

Looking at how the market reacted to the trade talks and the decline of the SnP my first thought is that screams reversal for the dollar. That is a very lopsided report and that ways makes me think other wise.

Are you looking at that as positive for the dollar?

FXStreet seems to be the fastest for me but I also use investing.com.
FXStreet news has a auto reload feature that you don't have to keep hitting refresh to see the lastest news updates.
I also use Interactive Brokers as well. They have alot of good analysis and stock reports on their platform. I use them for stocks and options
Hope that helps

Cheers

{quote} My GN short has been a fail still in it at a loss. Kiwi has cost me money this year....
My trade manager just closed GN short, not the best timing but good to ease a bit my exposure on NZD.
Scrolling down towards the bottom of the page here you can see kiwi has been one of the worst performer this year.

ON a short term basis yes, I dont trade long term so I am looking at Asia/London open....... look at the open of London last night and then look at the Dollar....how it spiked up....then see too the left ....every major reacted strongly...no question there was an effect. imho.....but you know, this can change in a heartbeat these days because of the turbulence in the market.....anyway futures drive the market mood without question...and there was a huge increase in long positions in the USDX...why? If you can answer that you can rule the financial markets for the Western Hemisphere...lol

And because of the COT report I kept a few runners on GBP which gave up a couple hundred dollars...still have one on but may close soon...anyway the point is we don't always get home runs....but think of this...250.00 X5 trading days = 1250.00 X 4 weeks = 5000.00 X12= $60,000.00. As simplistic a it may seem to everyone off, you we often forget to realize how small numbers can be so large when you think in yearly terms.

That thinking comes from my few years in the restaurant business.....if food costs were too high, if paper supplies were wasted, if rent and utilities get out of hand and labor costs spike because as an owner you needed some rest, you would find at the end of a stressful month, with good sales, there still wasn't enough money left over to pay yourself......small numbers need to be controlled and appreciated for what they can become.

Ingvar's Monday Rant....lol..... Hope your all doing ok...I would be nice to see some posts on trades taken, or closed, or whatever to keep this thread alive....

Agreed interest rate cuts have been a Bear on the Kiwi. I know they are projecting another 1/2% cut by next year and tomorrow they have the red flag bank rate announcement tomorrow. I have a small loss on this one and have activated a trailing stop on it now. I may just cut out of it. Capital preservation.
UDATE: I'm out at a small loss. Talk about dynamic spread widening on the Asian open around a 15 pip spread. Looks like a Sunday open, hit my trailing stop and I'm okay with that. Next trade.
