Y'know it's quite funny. A lot of my 'wisdom' (which is majority garbage) comes from an unhealthy dosage of prescription drugs.
Anyway, I thought today of 3 things.
1: All good plans have 3 distinct stages; Identification, Strategising & Execution.
- Identify an opportunity, strategise how you'll place capital & then execute strategy. (Flicking back between 2 & 3 often.)
2; People DO NOT react to news, news reacts to people....mostly.
3, When something is common knowledge, truth takes a vacation. (08 for example, everyone 'knew' housing would continue upwards, it's common knowledge, well then the truth left and came back in 09 lol)
Hope that's of value to someone. I'm working on USD/JPY now, while it may take a while, I'm going to build a medium short position, the interest will slaughter me, but the down move imminent I think could be quite lucrative. The catalyst may be a surprise Democrat win in the midterms, putting republican pro-business ideas of the tracks a bit.
