Thank you Jerem. Great article, exactly about the technicals and fundamentals behind the oil prices.

So in the short run you more likely to trade with technical indicators? Could the fundamentals ruin your technical analysis in the short term?

Jerem Feb 16, 2017 9:17am | Post# 1082

Actually I think we have not the same definition about short-tun. For me technical are for entry points on a 10 min chart. Or when I place very short-term trades (intraday trading).

But I give way more credit to fundamentals when I am placing a trade with an horizon of a few days / week.

For instance at the moment I am short on the market. I used technical for my entry point (at the top of the trading range we have been experiencing since almost 2 months). But my conviction to be short derives from my fundamental view (too much production for a sluggish demand) - because it always comes down to fundamentals when big moves occurs.

What makes oil market tricky is that you have to take into account expectations which are very volatile (related to OPEC cuts for instance at the moment). My view today is that expectations are too high relative to hard current fundamental situations.

Hope its clear

{quote} Paper oil is going north as Golden and others pump more air into the bubble. Would be nice seeing it explodes in 2-3 months. Nobody will cut output to loose the market share. Taking into account US production/exports to boost soon. Lets see
Some more air into the bubble..

As I had said.. This will rise and be manipulated to rise. We will be hearing that oil inventories dropped to justify gains

As of this week, the crude will remain bearish.

Major changes to the north will show as from the OPEN level of April

I think trading the crude is much better than forex in that the crude pays more per pip.

The main thing is to have bona fide SR levels and strike your entries strictly at pullbacks around the SR levels
in the direction of the WEEKLY + DAILY candles.

That is the best way to tame the beast in the crude.

I have been trading it for five years with excelent results. Its very good to those with patience.

Your setups are very brilliant.

Overall, what do you think will happen from now into April crudewise

Not sure of much, I'm fairly sure that the numbers not going over 60 in the medium term. Too much supply, not enough decrease from the cartel. The market recovery is not so bullish anymore. More sideways for a while in the overall range.
