There is absolutely no difference trading in the summertime compared to winter. Don't follow fundies and maybe you'll see that the market isn't all that "unpredictable". Get a plan, trade the plan. The only thing worth trading off of in the long run is price.
Follow fundies is good if you have deep pockets to withstand the whipsaws. For us, it's techies ftw.

Like how trading is different during the week, Monday being slow and volume being too low and Wednesday being the 'Boom' day, so does different times of the year influenced by seasonal holidays.

Apparently July-August is the worst time to trade followed by Mid December to Early January, then the good periods to trade are from the third week of January to Mid May but the most profitable and best time to trade are from September (after Labor Day) to the first Friday of December being NFP d

This is why markets tend to range around May-August and during Xmas holidays.

Most pairs barely move outside of news events between June and August, sometimes well into September, it's very frustrating.

That's really for sure is so, what did you expect, summer is very slow season for many many markets in many industries, it's just some common sense anyway for all what it have here. But maybe you should choose not that fundamental currencies to start and play with and you will be all just fine, what do you say about that ? Sounds somewhat good ? Please provide some feedback, it's quite interesting topic. Maybe exception for not short term trades, here where comes the difference in that.

This summer so far has not been as slow as usual, but there is still plenty of time for that to change.
